Little did I know that there has been a 'precedent' of sorts...

The Staten Island ferry crash that killed 11 - back in 2003: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_State ... erry_crash

http://newyorkpersonalinjurylegalblog.c ... crash.html

One of the 11 victims ("John Healy") was reported to be - needless to say - a "miraculous 9/11 survivor"...

The FUND RAISING site:
"Please send donations to the victims of this tragedy directly to:
The Ferry Fund -- call Borough Hall at (718) 816-2000 or D'Amato's law office at (718) 442-0900.

Your contribution is very needed by those that did not have insurance."

Did the high speed Ferry continue after it hit the docks? Did it leave an imprint of itself in the wall? I somehow doubt it!

Witnesses on the dock said the captain was immediately screaming to security on shore to call 911 — perhaps because he feared the damaged ferry might sink.

Is it because of budget cuts and austerity measures that the Wall St ferry captains are doing without cellphones, radios etc on their ferries? Poor buggers, even when I go fishing in a 10ft dinghy on the Gulf I can phone anywhere in the world, no need to scream at passers-by.

^Or is it just another excuse to slip more 9's and 11's into the story?

I have been on that ferry. I don't think this can happen by accident very easily. Too weird that it would crash, and also crash so hard to kill people.
