ATTABOY, MOHAMMED !

The other day, as I woke up in the morning, I wondered: "Mohammed Atta"? What sort of name is that? The first word that sprung to my mind was: "attaboy"! As in: "That's a good boy!". Well, this much I knew of this British / American expression. Here's a post to be found on the "ENGLISH LANGUAGE & USAGE" WEBSITE:
"ATTABOY"

It comes from "That's a good boy," through a series of shortenings.

That's a good boy.
That's a boy. (or, "That's the boy")
'at's a boy.
atta boy.

Here's another linguistic definition of "attaboy":
"Attaboy" means praise or encouragement, often as a result of a discrete action or specific instance of praiseworthy behavior

.

Ok, so we may say that "attaboy" goes hand in hand with "praiseworthy" behavior. Can we not? I think we can. Alright, so let's now check out the original meaning behind the name "Mohammed" (or Muhammad) :

Oh, how jolly funny - isn't it?

Ladies and gents, introducing to you - our very special Chief Hijacker:

"Mr Praiseworthy Praiseworthy" :

I don't know about you - but every now and then - I get this uncomfortable feeling that the 9/11 scriptwriters
were a twisted bunch of silly nerds borrowed from the producers of MEL BROOKS and the MONTY PYTHON lot.

But there's more.

See, in World War II, the "attaboys" was the nickname given to the "Air Transport Auxiliaries" (ATA), a bunch of pilots whose flying missions were strictly limited to DELIVERING airplanes to the battlefields. The "attaboys", in fact, never engaged themselves did in any warfare, air battles or bombings. They just DELIVERED the planes... Get it?

ATA : "The ATA trained its pilots only to ferry planes, rather than to perfection on every type. For example aerobatics and blind flying were not taught and pilots were explicitly forbidden from doing either, even if capable of doing so. The objective of the ATA was to deliver aircraft safely, and that meant taking no unnecessary risks."

CODE NAMES & RAF VOCABULARY : http://www.associations.rafinfo.org.uk/code_names.htm
"attaboy : - member of the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) many of whom were Americans."

Attaboy, Mohammed! You delivered that "Flight 11" on 9/11 just nicely - without firing a single shot!

One can't say that the Nutwork doesn't have a (however perverse and warped) sense of humor - painful as it is to admit.

On the topic of military transport, I would recommend FATE IS THE HUNTER by Ernest Kellogg Gann. The book is an account of the author's exploits in flying cargo "over the hump" in WWII.

Gann's biography is absolutly precious. From Yale Drama school he went on to work in films and did a stint with Time. After his tenure with the military Gann went on to work with "unscheduled" airlines.

As I discussed with Hoi on another post, naming algorithms to me are more direct than any photo manipulation evidence.
It must be a subjective thing. I looked at Hoi's pics over and over and just got muddled and frustrated and then I saw the naming algorithms and I went: "oh, this stuff is all just made up." Maybe some people are more verbal than visual in their orientation.

Oh, absolutely, dear Lazlo. I think it is clear now that we all have different brains, and thus, different reasoning processes will (from one person to another) condition and influence the making up of our minds - due to our preciously unique and variously built and shaped intellects.

However, I feel that - in this world we live in - we all need to keep broadening our cognitive / sensorial spectrum, unless we are 'let behind' - if you see what I mean. In other words, we should not let the "genius" of the criminal-minded people of this planet prevail. The problem is, normal / healthy / balanced people are not obsessed by controlling other people - therefore their brains remain untrained to confront the antics of the sick, conspiratorial power-addicts of this world.

I remember reading somewhere that attaboy had been a naughty Muslim boy, frequenting strip clubs and drinking alcohol the night before 9/11,and was prepared to die because he was going to end up in heaven, with all these beautifull virgins just waiting for him to arrive.

Good observation. Reminds me of the LAX shooter "ciancia" (CIA-N-CIA).
