Hollywood Gunman

Unread post by RoyBean »

Has anyone here taken a look at this bizarre sunset & vine news piece from last week? This one smacks of staged to me; as another ‘crazed gunman’ incident for the record. The initial media reports used the Muslim terrorist ‘hook’ then seemed to drop it altogether for the ‘distraught, drugged out loon motivated by a recent break-up’ story.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Friends and neighbors of a gunman who was shot dead by police as he fired randomly at passing cars on a Hollywood street — critically wounding one man — say he was deeply troubled by the recent breakup with his girlfriend. Authorities released the identity of Tyler Brehm on Saturday and examined the 26-year-old’s body, Los Angeles County Coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz said, a day after the shootout at the Hollywood intersection of Sunset and Vine. Investigators have not released a motive for Friday’s attack. Friends and neighbors said Brehm was stung by the relationship’s end.
[….]
Brehm walked down the middle of Sunset Boulevard, firing on motorists with no clear target and injuring three of them until two police officers who just happened to be in the area — an off-duty motorcycle officer working movie set security and an LAPD detective — shot and killed him, authorities said. In amateur video taken at the shooting scene, the gunman appeared to have short hair and wore jeans and a white tank top. He paced back and forth near the busy intersection with Vine Street, firing close to 20 rounds from what appeared to be a .40-caliber handgun, police said. Several witnesses reported seeing him reload at least once.

From the bit of video I’ve seen I don’t detect that the video is CGI laced, just some dopey acting. But this ridiculous looking TV-Drama shot grabbed my attention...and I think I see shoppery, but I’ll defer to the experts here.

The LAPD confirms Atterberry died at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

Atterberry has worked as a music industry executive including a stint as A&R for Tabu Records and as Vice President of Death Row Records, according to a biography posted on Facebook.
Atterberry also helped create the music publishing company Infusion Music Group where he worked on albums for Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson and the Spice Girls.

Gee, I hope whatever this is about is ultimately for the betterment of mankind.

Coming soon to a theater near you!

Oh, wait ... it already has:

Here we see the now-disarmed gunman just after being shot down by the LAPD's new Blood-Free Bullets which can kill crazed gunmen without spilling a drop or even damaging their garments in any way. Thus saving the taxpayers of Los Angeles the costs of cleanup.
Image
According to eye witness Chris Johns (interviewed in video linked in the OP) the gunman was shot down by an off-duty police officer who fired 7 rounds at the gunman. That must be him in the background, pointing out the gunmen to police just in case they couldn't see the guy writhing in the street with 7 bullet holes in him. Meanwhile, two alert LAPD officers point a 12 guage shot gun and a .357 magnum handgun at the gunman just in case he managed to unfold that pocket knife in his hand and do some real damage.

And, here we can see "Video taken by pedestrians" of the shooter moments before he was taken out by police. Not many people know that the pedestrians in Los Angeles are extremely tall -- some measuring as much as 30 feet in height:
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me ... 5120.story

And then there's this:
On Vine Street south of Sunset, Brehm approached a Male Black, 40 years old, who was sitting in his parked vehicle and shot him multiple times, striking him in the face and upper torso. He continued shooting at vehicles and in the air when he was confronted by two LAPD officers, one, an off-duty motor officer working on a movie set
http://blogs.laweekly.com/informer/2011 ... g_lapd.php

What? There was a movie set nearby? How convenient! They could block off the intersection and have an actor walking around shooting blanks and no one would pay any attention as movie shoots are common in LA.

Funny thing...

The name of the 'star eyewitness' of the Hollywood shooting is "Trey Beffa".

Image
"He wanted to die a loud death," said Trey Beffa, co-owner of K&L Wine Merchants on Vine Street, who said he was taking an order for Cabernet from a customer when he noticed the gunman, who was also clutching a knife, marching up the street, firing indiscriminately.
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me ... 5120.story
Now, you might like to know what "beffa" means in Italian. Here's how google translates "beffa":

hoax
mockery
joke
mock
jest
scoff
banter
cheat

Let's hope his wine doesn't taste like his name... <_<

Omg...

Now the mad gunman (who went mad because his girlfriend dumped him) supposedly shouted "Allahu Akbar!" - according to an Asian eyewitness (at 2:40 into this video)... So I guess it's yet another naughty Al Qaeda job, folks....

Très 'Beffa' it is too!

Awful lot of music biz connections <_<
"At first it seemed like a movie," said photographer Gregory Bojorquez, who was [conveniently] walking to a bank when he saw people running and screaming that a gunman was on the loose.

"But then you could hear the shots hitting metal," he added. [reinforcing the idea of real bullets]
. . .
Serge Durand, an Atlanta resident who was filming the scene from a nearby apartment, said he heard the gunman ask: "Is this the end?"... [super hearing!]

Gregory Bojorquez, born in 1972, grew up in the infamous streets of East Los Angeles. He photographed his surroundings, his neighbors and his friends, succeeding early on in documenting their private lives. After he caught the attention of LA Weekly, he began to photograph Hollywood celebrities, stars ranging from the likes of Snoop Dogg to Mike Tyson. His photos were published in numerous magazines including Rolling Stone Magazine and FHM.
However he continues to go back to his roots by maintaining his interest in people from his surroundings. He knows the dark side of Los Angeles and conveys original images of a hidden world, far removed from the Hollywood Hills.
His photos have a remarkable documentary quality, for example “The Eastsiders” (1997-2001), a fascinating work of romance, gangs and death. “Friday Night Party” shows 19 year old ‘Wicked’ with his friends just minutes before his murder by a member of a rival gang.

good observations, lux B)

add this to the list... handcuffing a dead man? then apparently flipped over and pants ripped off for some EMS treatment?

@ 2:37 and 2:53

and...I dunno much about crime scene investigations but, is it standard procedure to let a covered dead body - who happens to be a suspect - lie in a mostly busy street for more than 7 hours (10 am hour to past sunset L.A. time)? WTF are they investigating? more like media-show-and tell using a dummy prop. Which is also an indicator that this wasn't meant to be just another innocuous news report/incident.

Image

oh and... did they say "7 shots fired"?

here, in this other 'amateur video' we only hear 5

whatever... i'm just sayin ;)

As you can see in this photo, here in Los Angeles we are so accustomed to seeing dead bodies that we couldn't care less about one lying in the middle of the street as we go about our business.

Here is a very similar fake shooting from last August, also in Southern California.
This "not-only-graphic-but-disturbing" video shows Officer Slocum "shot in the head, seen here clutching his neck." (huh?)

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h20ZveYilc8

"The bullet fractured his skull but never entered his brain" (sound familiar?)

In the above video Officer Slokum demonstrates that the best thing to do when being shot at is run out into the open away from any any available cover.

Somehow the perp (who we only saw a photo of), while shooing at police, managed to set fire to the house he was in and burn himself up into "charred remains."

The "disturbing" video below is very similar but we see the other side of Slokum's head with no sign of injury there either. We also see the "critically injured" cop thrown in the back seat of a car which speeds away without even bothering to close the car door.

The irony for me is they drive him across the 'line of fire' whilst taking him to 'safety' and with the door open!

YouTube has more of these. Just search for "police shooting" or something similar.

Here is one that popped up depicting an "Iowa police shooting." The action starts at about 1:00. Police fire multiple shots at point blank range at the driver of a car with windows rolled up but, magically, the bullets have no effect on the window or driver. Amazing.
