This seems odd how they want to 'engage' the public in helping find where the plane may be.

They offer a bogus explanation for why the phones keep ringing in this article.

Credit goes to Brian Williams for keeping a straight face during this comment: 'If this were submitted as a Hollywood script, it would be rejected as too incredible.' Indeed.

They mention that these planes are equipped with beepers that can operate up to 20,000 feet below sea level. So why aren't they working? They suggest everyone on board could have suddenly been incapacitated but the plane could have continued flying on autopilot on any number of tracks and landed (presumably without an explosion) in dense jungle ----- so dense, it can hide a 777. Again, isn't this exactly the Hollywood script for Lost? Are we watching 'life' imitate 'art' so to speak?

Honestly, this is ridiculous. Glad to see folks posting about this topic-- coming here was my immediate thought once I heard about the plane disappearing/disintegrating/exploding/etc.

This seems somewhat relevant to post on this forum. Author of "aviation thrillers" Karlene Petitt, publicly speculates on her blog about what could have happened to the plane:

http://karlenepetitt.blogspot.com/2014/ ... e.html?m=1
My Theory:
I think the flight deck was compromised. The terrorists turned the transponder off. They told the captain to fly the plane toward a different city. Hong Kong comes to mind, but they could have turned back to Singapore, or head anywhere in range with one mission in mind: Create another 911 event.

I believe that captain initially followed their directions and when he realized what was about to happen, he put the plane into the ocean to save thousands of lives on the ground. If I were in that seat and they decided they didn't need me anymore, I would click off the autopilot and push the nose over in descent during my final breath.

The reason we cannot find this plane is we are looking in the wrong place.

The search crew should draw a line from the point of disappearance, incorporating the turning radius of the plane, to all major cities that could have been a target. Then they need to take the trajectory with the speed and altitude and look in those locations with a 30 mile width.

Why has nobody taken credit?
Because they failed!
If they were planning on blowing up a plane, credit would be taken.
They are not showing their hand because they plan on doing this again and do not want us to know who they are.

Yes... this is pure speculation. But if I am correct, and they look on a flight path to a major city, we may just find this plane sooner than later. We must find out what happened to make sure it never happens again.

We need to find that plane!

As many of you know I faced a ramification when I wrote about AF447. As it turned out, I had been accurate on everything I wrote. I am taking a deep breath as I write my thoughts today. I cannot keep this quiet because if I'm right on this too, we might just find that plane sooner than later.
This seems another way, using new media,to guide the public's grasp of events, or perhaps to prop up a new media expert. Either way, I'm sure we'll run into her again.

Weird stuff - to say the least! The woman likes to fly, no doubt.

So this is the writer who speculates that this Malaysia flight thing was another terror hijacking - just like on 9/11 ?

Funny how the plane's story makes no sense to absolutely every other person, but she explains to all of us how it makes complete sense, is just like 9/11 and she comes out of nowhere to being tweeted and retweeted by big media.

Here we go again..

So, my two pence worth(less)..

1) The ole faithful 'there was a no plane to begin with'. Hey, why not? It worked before, right? With a bunch of stations and their newscasters reeling off JJ Abrams 'Lost' scripts and having the world hooked like it's a web series.

2) Cold Fusion disintegrated the entire thing, leaving no sign of anything.

My favourite....

3) 'Mega Shark' Image

Oh - but wait, there is the new wave of female 'jackers', ala the white widow.. The 'pilot' regularly invite(d) blondes into his cockpit. I can see the drip-feeding now beginning..

There was another recent TV series that had a disappearing plane - The Event.

Sean Walker (Jason Ritter) unwittingly becomes involved in a mysterious conspiracy after his girlfriend Leila (Sarah Roemer) is abducted while they are on a cruise ship. Meanwhile, the US President Martinez (Blair Underwood) plans to shut down a top-secret detention center, Mount Inostranka, in Alaska and reveal a cover-up directly tied to its detainees and their mysterious leader, Sophia (Laura Innes), despite the objections of the Director of National Intelligence Blake Sterling (Željko Ivanek). Sean boards a plane and pleads with the pilot, Leila's father Michael (Scott Patterson), not to crash it into the President's press conference in Miami. As the plane approaches the press conference site, it flies into a vortex in mid-air and vanishes.

I believe this must be a distraction. It is evolving much like Wag the Dog. They are probably making it up as they go along.

My guess is that this hoax is leading up to some sort of wilderness survival story, currently a popular theme of American "reality" TV shows.

This, I think. Yes, it seems to me the culture of total media domination has painted itself in a corner, and without some change those responsible will face consequences. So their present move is to borrow the imagination of their captive audience who will happily speculate a million new ideas into their hands. They just needed some soap-opera style speculations to get the News Fan Fiction ball rolling, and as we can see that has already been doing its job.

Everyone pours their intellectual energy into unraveling a "mystery" that doesn't exist, like a giant game of Clue (Cluedo overseas), while slightly more serious legal things are re-written and shuffled; or in any case, if nothing legal changes and no secretive bills and/or laws are passed, it keeps the people distracted again.

A less disempowering story, however, is to remind ourselves we don't need to pay attention and we can get our communities to talk about real topics very easily by simply not focusing on such fluff.

A Chinese satellite (not to be confused with a Chinese lunar lander or a Chinese feathered dinosaur fossil) has reportedly taken this brilliantly clear photo of what some believe is the floating "wreckage" of Flight 370:

Oh no not the Andaman islands. The passengers will have been eaten for sure. The islands are inhabited by tribes of cannibalistic head-hunting pygmies in the fictions of Conan Doyle. Is that where this is going?
