Slightly off topic, but in line with my observation that there is so much humor in these stories, we have, their headline, not mine: 'A pro-Russian separatist, with a kitten on his chest, stands at a checkpoint in the northern outskirts of Donetsk, on Tuesday' Indeed. Nicely camouflaged against the updated camo-gear, and coordinating neck scarf.

Looks a bit like Sean Connery to me.
Malaysia Flight MH17
Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
There is also the strange AIDS connection between TWA Flight 800 and Malaysia Flight MH17.
TWA flight 800 (July 17, 1996) - Alleged victim: Rodolphe Mérieux, heir of the French pharmaceutical company Merieux Laboratories - a world leader in AIDS vaccines research. The early TWA 800 media reports also ran worrisome stories about "the risk of AIDS contamination for the rescue workers", since two boxes of AIDS/HIV-infected blood were believed to have been carried on the plane...
MALAYSIA flight MH17 (July 17, 2014) - "Among the passengers was former president of the International AIDS Society Joep Lange, a well-known HIV researcher from the Netherlands. Chris Beyrer, president-elect of the International AIDS Society, said if reports of Lange’s death were true, “then the HIV/AIDS movement has truly lost a giant.”

Dear Mnew9, that happens to be a mirroring of my own little 'trivia' musing here:mnew9 wrote:There is also the strange AIDS connection between TWA Flight 800 and Malaysia Flight MH17.

Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
Once again they're beyond ridiculous with some of these photos:
http://rack.0.mshcdn.com/media/ZgkyMDE0 ... uly-22.jpg
http://ibnlive.in.com/news/netherlands- ... 807-2.html
So here we have a couple of touristy-looking civilians with backpacks just casually wandering among the "junkyard"... because that's what it is, a pile of junk thrown onto a field. One of the photos identifies them as "Malaysian investigators."
Just like at the Boston Marathon, we have civilians wandering around a crime/disaster scene, doing official-looking things while cops and other officials just stand by scratching their noses. Just like at Boston, they don't bother cordoning off a crime/disaster scene and station cops there ready to bust your head if you try to wander in. No, it's just "open house" at the crash site, come one, come all. Bring the kiddies, bring the wife, plenty of interesting bric-a-brac to select from - Birkenstocks, sausages, you name it!

^^ Ha! Nice blue-and-white-striped shirt.

Thanks for pointing that out Simon. I had heard about the AIDS connection and searched for related information, not realising that you had already researched it.simonshack wrote:Dear Mnew9, that happens to be a mirroring of my own little 'trivia' musing here:mnew9 wrote:There is also the strange AIDS connection between TWA Flight 800 and Malaysia Flight MH17.

It's what we call in Australia the boomerang effect. Your great work has gone out into the digital stratosphere, been absorbed and then been returned straight back at you.

Spot on Houdini. The following news video appeared in Australia today. At 3:00 the reporter actually makes the comment "The main crash site, looking each day more and more like a rubbish tip."Houdini wrote:

Investigators have found a previously undiscovered part of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 along with more bodies more than a week after the Boeing 777 was shot down over eastern Ukraine.A spokesman for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe says the piece of fuselage "appeared out of nowhere".

Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
On the Dutch site of Martin Vrijland a passenger list of MH17 is placed by Kevlarc8 (scroll down):
http://www.martinvrijland.nl/2014/07/24 ... ment-16248
Passenger number 174 Miss Hielkje Raap lives/lived just round the corner from where I live in Groningen, about 150 meters from my house. I spoke to her neighbour about her and to several other people who said they knew her. I therefore assume she is a real person. Whether she was on that MH17 plane is another matter, of course.

Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
Why did you have to speak to "a neighbour" just around the corner? Wouldn't YOU know her- if she lived just around the corner? Did she live alone just around the corner? Didn't she have family just around the corner? Prove that she lived just around the corner in fact instead of coming here with hearsay! Couldn't those people simply be saying "we knew her well" , just like everybody does when someone dies? Several other people??? Who exactly?Rudy Algera wrote:On the Dutch site of Martin Vrijland a passenger list of MH17 is placed by Kevlarc8 (scroll down):

Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
brianv, if you look on this map
https://www.google.nl/?gws_rd=ssl#q=ker ... +groningen
you'll see that where I live near the corner of Kloosterstraat and Kerklaan it is only 150 footsteps to her place in the Kerklaan number 25 where Miss Raap (aged 55) lives. I didn't know her but I spoke to her next door neighbour, a woman who lives at number 27. I was told Miss Raap lived there alone, that she was a teacher, has a brother, liked travelling etc. Other people I spoke to (a psychology student who lives next door to me and a man who lives diagonally opposite) said they had occasionally seen her in the pub at the beginning of the Kerklaan or spoken to her in the street but that they didnt know her well. I noticed on my walks (I pass her house almost daily) that flowers are laid near her windows and vthat re gone after a short time. I can't prove anything nor do I want to. The purpose of my previous reaction was to mention the passenger list which I found on a Dutch site in case anyone here was interested.

Despite her living 150 footsteps away you didn't know her by sight? This "resume" of hers, is it the same one that's available on countless websites?Rudy Algera wrote:brianv, if you look on this map

sad but true, I didn't know her from a bar of soap

Thats hardly an answer Rudy!Rudy Algera wrote:sad but true, I didn't know her from a bar of soap
"I was told Miss Raap lived there alone, that she was a teacher, liked travelling etc."
In other words she was a solitary type person who didnt go out much and traveled abroad so nobody knew her. She had a brother! How Vague can you get?
"Other people I spoke to (a psychology student who lives next door to me and a man who lives diagonally opposite) said they had occasionally seen her in the pub at the beginning of the Kerklaan or spoken to her in the street but that they didnt know her well." - You sound like a newspaper reporter here! And a bit "Ciaran Cassidy" for you followers of the 7/7 hoax.
Your next-door neighbours know her by sight, but you don't.
Yeah yeah - they read the papers and are bullshitting you or you are bullshitting us!
Re: Malaysia Flight MH17
Miss Hielkje Raap / Miss Hailey Turnip (In Dutch "raap" means "turnip" ) "medewerkster van het Alfa College"
The unfortunate Miss Turnip was not a teacher, as such, but an assistant ("medewerkster") in the careers office ("deelnemerloopbaanexpertise") of Alfa-college, a large vocational training centre ("opleidingencentrumlocal") in Groningen, with 10,000 students and over 1,000 staff.
So far there are six twelve pages of tributes for Miss Turnip; every bit as trite as the ones left for the 911 vicsims, and many addressed, bizarrely, to Miss Turnip herself.
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... %3D5779616
Alfa-college has also set up an official Facebook page for leaving tributes. Former colleague, Carol White, touchingly recalls when the two of them enjoyed a fag together in the college staffroom. Sentimental to a fault, those Dutch! Eh, Rudy?!

See: http://www.facebook.com/Alfa.college.MBOTrea de Wit, Lieve Hieke... Lieve Hieke rust zacht!
