Countess Constance "all ears" Markieviecz, gathering intelligence from IRA comrades.
James Connolly to her right, later betrayed and executed by the Crown, 12 May 1916
Lady Constance pleaded to be shot, too. But it wasn't to be. Just not her day!

You seem very sure on the Dalai Lama being a 'paid' (and not a 'desperate person in a desperate situation) vehicle for western intelligence agencies against the 5000 year wall of Chinese culture and imperialism....

Ever heard of the Chushi Gangdruk?

As far as I can see, there is little doubt that the CIA helped the Dalai Lama become the western superstar that he is.
If this is CIA counter-information, I fail to see why it is out there - but then again, I'm no expert in Tibetan matters:

Twould be a shame to split up the Countess Markiewicz and the Dalai Lama.
They go so well together (like The Fly And The Turd in the Aesop fable).

Although there are growing doubts that the Countess ever existed...
