Singer Amy Winehouse's father said that his daughter had the prescribed medication Librium in her system
when she died of a seizure, caused by alcohol detoxification, said media reports Friday.

Chlordiazepoxide (initially called methaminodiazepoxide) was the first benzodiazepine to be synthesised in the mid-1950s. Chlordiazepoxide was synthesised from work on a chemical dye, quinazolone-3-oxides. It was discovered by accident when in 1957 tests revealed that the compound had
hypnotic, anxiolytic and muscle relaxant effects. Three years later chlordiazepoxide was marketed as a therapeutic benzodiazepine medication under the brand name
Librium. Following chlordiazepoxide in 1963
diazepam hit the market under the brand name Valium followed by many further benzodiazepine compounds which were introduced over the subsequent years and decades.[4]
Chlordiazepoxide is indicated for the short term (2–4 weeks) treatment of anxiety which is severe and disabling or subjecting the person to unacceptable distress. It is also indicated as a treatment for the management of
acute alcohol withdrawal syndrome.[8][edit]
Contraindications
Use of chlordiazepoxide should be avoided in individuals with the following conditions:
* Myasthenia gravis
* Acute intoxication with alcohol, narcotics, or other psychoactive substances
* Ataxia
* Severe
hypoventilation
* Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
* Severe liver deficiencies (hepatitis and liver cirrhosis decrease elimination by a factor of 2)
* Severe
sleep apnea

In medicine,
hypoventilation (also known as respiratory depression) occurs when ventilation is inadequate[1] (hypo means "below") to perform needed gas exchange. By definition it causes an increased concentration of carbon dioxide (hypercapnia) and respiratory acidosis.

Sleep apnea (or sleep apnoea in Great Britain; English pronunciation: /æpˈniːə/) is a sleep disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or instances of abnormally low breathing, during sleep. Each pause in breathing, called an apnea, can last from a few seconds to minutes, and may occur 5 to 30 times or more an hour.[1] Similarly, each abnormally low breathing event is called a hypopnea.

It's well known that for people with epilepsy, the sedative muscle-relaxant diazapines that stop the clustering of seizures, can also inhibit breathing. Its a delicate balance. She no doubt had already experienced crazy heart palpitations & possibly even arythmia during her wild
times. So maybe seizure-type 'warnings' didnt register much. She was given a clean bill of health just the day before. The healthier looking
Amy Winehouse looks consistent with someone who has stopped taking street drugs & eats more and drinks a lot more alcohol. Her death
isnt so much about her librium/alcohol levels, much more about the long-term battering her heart & lungs took when she was a total
drugs fiend...
She was sober just over 48hrs before dying, last filmed dancing on stage at her Goddaughter's gig...

and i mean, you could train a doppelganger to do... that voice... ?!?
