David Cameron, the spy-catcher of No.10

Unread post by reichstag fireman »

Just thinking aloud (albeit after a glass of cider Image) about this photo released from 10 Downing Street, official squat of the British Prime Minister.

Image

Sporting the BLUE neck-tie is Tory premier, Old Etonian and Bullingdon Boy, David Gladstone Cameron.

And in the RED neck-tie of the People's Republic is (billionaire) Chinese Communist Party member, Ren 任正非 Zhengfei.

Comrade Ren is founder and CEO of Huawei Technologies, the Chinese telco giant (2nd largest in world with global sales of CNY185bn a year.)

Ren Zhengfei was ostensibly in Blighty to smooth over political cracks. The UKUSA junta is charging Huawei with spying on us for the Red Army. The political background to the scandal (according to Auntie) is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19595778

The original image is here: http://www.techweekeurope.co.uk/wp-cont ... ameron.jpg

The exif data of the 8 megapixel image is extracted below. Apparently taken with a Nikon DSLR camera with 35mm lens, on an ISO 2000 setting, 1/60s exposure @ f7.1 and illumination of subject (distance 3.4m) reportedly aided with flash:

The metadata stamp of ownership is claimed by Guy Bell, the man below. (ex-British Army - regiment unknown. ).

Image

Mr Bell's portfolio is found here: http://www.gbphotos.com/. As to be expected, lots of Glorious snaps of Brenda & Phil. Image

I dunno. Maybe just me, but the photo feels a little unreal. What do you guys think?

Image
  • The team colour neck-ties. Puhleeze!
  • The business card: "I can do business with this chap!"
  • Zhengfei's awkward posture. Those clumsy hands and feet.
  • To lesser extent, Camergoon sits clumsily too. Although perhaps due much to breeding :(
  • That gauche brass-effect table lamp - very Poundland. :puke: Too bright under ELA compared to similar brass fire surround & tools.
  • The odd white halo around all the perps around the fifth leg intruding the picture from the right. (Zoom on the original)
ELA courtesy of Fotoforensics.com is here : http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?id=91388b62565466..

edit: halo not hue

There's a white line all the way around the mug from 10 Downing Syndrome St. I didnt bother to check the other guy. But if you look at their shape it's sufficient to tell that it's a fanciful creation.

There is a howler however - Ron's chair, behind his head, it is intersected by the fireplace surround!

Thank you Brian, for lacing into how this picture is a fake.
I was just trying to post a comment hoping that you or lux would go after the obvious anomalies.
The colours are too crisp and bright. The guys' legs are too thin and distorted. Zhengfei seems to be wearing sports socks, and his shoes and socks don't match the rest of his legs. They both seem to be twisting around in cheap suits. The cheap table in the centre with the card is a prop.
This kind of fireside chat photo is so common that I'm guessing every one of them is a cheap fake.
Gosh, these political leaders get around in one hurry.

The chairs seem all weird too, way wide with off perspective and not aligned on the same plane.
What's going on with Cameron's laced fingers?
Zhengfei's hands don't seem to match.
The more point-and-laugh that can go on over what these guys present, the better.

To add,
  • The camera settings in the metadata are not credible for the lighting in the 'photo'.
  • The Depth of Field is too great to be real.
  • A basic photographic principle: DoF is inversely proportional to aperture size.
  • Smaller iris = greater DoF.
  • Yet in this photo we find the opposite: larger iris (f7.1 stop) AND large DoF.
  • Impossibly, everything is in perfect focus:
  • that vulgar table lamp thing, those carved chair legs, the Tory Goon, the rich oriental chappy, the carved side tables, the sculpted mantle, the occasional table, etcetera.
  • Everything is in razor sharp focus. Much too sharp to be real. ;)
The 'photo' has been in the 'pending' box for a few weeks. Instinctively it screamed fraud. Lots of anomalies in it, but no smoking gun as such. It's a 'good' fraud. Convincing at first glance. Bad luck to "Guy Bell": close but no cigar! Now, about those "royal photos"

Thanks to Brianv and Maggie for sharing your expertise.

EDIT: Is there any evidence that Ren Zhengfei was even in London "on 11th September 2012 meeting Prime Minister David Cameron in Downing Street"?

The fake photo is very widely distributed. The Register, a specialist IT publication, run by a bunch of seasoned Apollo Hoaxsters, audaciously used it in a feature story. What boundless contempt for the readership!

We are still looking at this dodgy photo of British premier, David Cameron and Chinese billionaire Ren Zhengfei. The image provenance and ownership is mired in mystery. (There are other faux-tographs of RZ in the same temporal series).

Image

The media is claiming that Zhenfgei's company, Huawei, supplied them with the image. That seems very unlikely. The image is attributed (viz "blamed") on Huawei, but has the hallmarks of HM Apparatus stamped all over it. Why would Huawei want to publish a dodgy photo? Cui bono? It's Cameron who's riding the crest of the wave with it. It is the tarts in the Western press who published it, not the the Chinese. It is HMG boasting of securing 5,000 British jobs from Huawei! And all thanks to the PM and his diplomatic skills at the little round table. Hoorah for Dave! Or is it?

HM Apparatus is evidently at ease doctoring images of its puppet front men. As for faking 'photos' of the Prime Minister? Inside Downing Street? Shirt sleeves up, lobbying a billionaire businessmen to "create 5,000 new jobs" ? Would they dare fake all that? Whaddayathink?

Just Ren's neck-tie that's been 'shopped then?

What about the weird white halo around the two gents, that BrianV noted?
And that peculiar distortion of perspective, that alerted Maggie - especially the chairs and the round table?
And then there are Ren's odd hands and his 'shit-my-pants' posture?
That illuminating glow of the table-lamp under ELA?
Those nose-shadows, spotted by Thugsie?

There are some other faux-tos of Ren Zhengfei in Europe that are worth looking at. Interested?

I better come clean - I'm sure Brian and you (Simon) are right - but I still haven't got it....

Ron is Cameron? Rather than Ren?! What does intersected mean? Cuts through?

Yes Ron is Cameron! Look at the back of his chair and how it disappears into the fireplace surround!

The close-up clearly shows the white line surrounding the dipshit!

edit: I can see now that I've made a howler regarding the chair, there is another piece of Poundworld furniture behind the chair! A small side-table like that behind Fengshui.

The halo remains valid though!
