I have added a "(?)" to the title of this thread since, of course, not all songs posted here are 'true truth songs' - nor are they required to be so for that matter: to be sure, this thread isn't for promoting any 'truth songs' (other than my own, of course :P - only joking) and this should be understood by all readers. Anyone uninterested in / or annoyed by this thread can either submit their critique to any given 'truth-song lyrics' - or simply ignore this thread altogether. However, I'm not going to lock it just because some members / readers dislike it. After all, music is - for the better or the worse - part of our life here on Earth and we are ALL perfectly aware here that it is - alas - widely used as a mind-numbing mass-propaganda tool, much as Hollywood movies are.

Moreover, as a music maker myself (who also indulges in some - admittedly minimalistic /ultra-succinct - 'truth lyrics') I find it hard / inappropriate for me to shut down a thread which presents / discusses other music makers 'with a message' (however opinable their 'message' may be). If anything, I'll kindly ask everyone to exert some containment, taste and pure mercy to my ears-and-soul when submitting any given tune (that horrid Gun's 'n' Roses jungle-shite posted above by ICfreely, for instance, gave me an instant, throbbing headache - dammit. Truth be told, I'm no fan of rap either, although some rap lyrics appear to have some depth - occasionally, that is).

I will also grab the occasion to kindly ask our member ICfreely to stop yapping 'drunkenly' around the board (as of late) and get back to what he does best: contributing interesting (if somewhat long-winded) posts containing intellectually valid material. Thanks.

To our recent member Sharpstuff I will kindly ask a little more tolerance of the (inevitably) quite variable sort of people (culturally-wise / generationally-wise / dialectally-wise) that frequent and contribute to this fairly international forum. As I said, if a given thread of this forum isn't your cup of tea, simply avoid it. Most importantly - and this is directed more generally to ALL Cluesforum members - please avoid engaging in petty confrontations / pissing contests (example: ICfreely's antics of late) for the mere egotistic 'satisfaction of scoring a point' or to 'sound charmingly witty and vitriolic'. This is Cluesforum - NOT Facebook / NOT Twitter / and NOT any Youtube comment section. NO ONE here gives a flying fart about any inter-personal feuds between any two members of this board. If you have something of interest to offer the readership, that is what you should type. If not, simply refrain from typing. Is this clear enough? I hope so.

Rest assured that if any member turns out to be an obvious / agenda-driven disruptor of this forum, I will intervene in due time as my fellow administrators and I (ok, not always in due time enough - but we're only human) have tirelessly done over the years.

Thanks to all for your kind comprehension - and for allowing me to spend my time in more interesting ways than 'playing schoolmaster' here.

Points taken, Simon! For what it’s worth here’s the rationale behind my angry tirade of late.

Rage Against the Machine - Know Your Enemy – self-explanatory
Yes I know my enemies
They're the teachers who taught me to fight me
Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission
Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite

GURU – Full Clip - An unabashed FU to jokeyo and a shot across the bow of sucka MC’s who want to test my steez.

The Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth – Genius/GZA feat. Killah Priest – A failed attempt at:
-Reconciling peoples of different faiths
-Reiterating the importance of the Golden Rule
-Demonstrating the similarities between organized religion and mainstream ‘science’

World Domination - Westside Connection & Still - Geto Boys – TpTB’s pride will cause their inevitable downfall because, at the core, they’re still ghetto boys – brutish thugs!

Rubber Ring - The Smiths – A message to brianv that I get where he’s coming from vis-à-vis David Bowie.
But don't forget the songs
That made you cry
And the songs that saved your life

Alabina – Alabina – A dig at Jumpy :P

House Of Pain feat. Guru - Fed Up – Yet another dig at Jumpy. Also to let him know that GURU wasn’t some militant black power guy & that I wasn't promoting 'Black Pride.'
I say brothers are amused by other brother's reps
But they're all playin' roles just like Omar Epps

Nour El Ein - Amr Diab – Already explained.

Bela Lugosi in Home, I have no home – Given my background, I really don’t root for or against any given group of people.

Jump Around - House of Pain – Another dig at Jumpy. Yet another attempt to reconcile my Abrahamic brothers & sisters.

Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
– The following lines concisely describe the state of modern allopathic medicine.
If you got the money honey we got your disease
Welcome to the jungle we take it day by day
If you want it you're gonna bleed but it's the price to pay

Ya learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play (The line that saved my life!)

I put a lot of thought and consideration into my “open conspiracy” posts only to watch it devolve into mayhem. I was also saddened/angered by smj’s departure. He’s a highly underrated researcher & probably the only guy who truly gets what I’m doing (or trying to do anyway). Anyhow, I’ve run out of words. Hip-hop is a language unto itself and as such can be useful in the war of words. My experiment failed so all apologies.

Having said that, I haven’t picked fights with anyone here (excepting Jumpy of course :D ). If anything I’ve gone out of my way to avoid meaningless bickering. But when insults are delivered to my doorstep I ‘return to sender’ with the quickness. Lastly, I shared my personal background in order to help readers understand where I was coming from and to let Jumpy know that I’m not Black, Jewish or naive about the subjects we were discussing. I wasn’t trying to make it about me, me, me. Although I can understand if readers got that impression.

Henceforth I will treat this thread like the ‘Cold of space…’ thread & refrain from posting for the greater good. And for the record, I never PUI (Post Under the Influence).

P.S.

I still stand by my preceding post.

P.P.S.

J-Man, thank you for your kind words and advice as well! I hit you the hardest because I know you can take it. ;)

Guns or Roses

Or as the Mexican drug cartels say, ¿O Plata O Plomo?

The choice is yours, muchachos!

I shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you
But still I try to smile
Girl I think about you everyday now
Was a time that I wasn't sure but you
Set my mind at ease
There is no doubt you’re in my heart now

Said woman take it slow
And things will be just fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said sugar take the time and we'll come together fine

You and I will just use a little patience
Oh yea
I sit here on my stairs ‘cause I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you alright ill wait here
Sometimes I get so tense but I can't speed up the time
In true no love there's one more thing to consider

Said woman take it slow and things will be just fine
You and I will just use a little patience
Said sugar take the time and will come together fine

You and I got what it takes to make it
We won't fake it
Oh we'll never break it
'Cause I couldn't take it

I've been walking the streets at night
Just trying to get a right
It's hard to see with so many around
You know I don't like being stuck in the crowd
And the streets don't change but maybe the names

Dear Jumpy,

Don’t let your temporary suspension in the gulag of cyberspace get to you broseph! You and I share because we care. And always remember that 2-Pac cares, if don’t nobody else care. Keep Ya Head Up…

Tupac - Keep Ya Head Up

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8V0cfqqRYSs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8V0cfqqRYSs

Little somethin' for my godson Elijah and a little girl named Corinne

Some say the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice
I say the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots
I give a holler to my sisters on welfare
Tupac cares, if don't nobody else care
And uh, I know they like to beat ya down a lot
When you come around the block brothas clown a lot
But please don't cry, dry your eyes, never let up
Forgive but don't forget, girl keep your head up
And when he tells you you ain't nuttin' don't believe him
And if he can't learn to love you you should leave him
Cause sista you don't need him
And I ain't tryin' to gas ya up, I just call em how I see em
You know it makes me unhappy (what's that)
When brothas make babies, and leave a young mother to be a pappy
And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it's time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don't we'll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can't make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you're fed up ladies, but keep your head up

Keep ya head up, ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things are gonna get brighter

Keep ya head up, ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things are gonna get brighter

Aiyyo, I remember Marvin Gaye, used to sing ta me
He had me feelin' like black was tha thing to be
And suddenly tha ghetto didn't seem so tough
And though we had it rough, we always had enough
I huffed and puffed about my curfew and broke the rules
Ran with the local crew, and had a smoke or two
And I realize momma really paid the price
She nearly gave her life, to raise me right
And all I had ta give her was my pipe dream
Of how I'd rock the mic, and make it to tha bright screen
I'm tryin' to make a dollar out of fifteen cents
It's hard to be legit and still pay tha rent
And in the end it seems I'm headin' for tha pen
I try and find my friends, but they're blowin in the wind
Last night my buddy lost his whole family
It's gonna take the man in me to conquer this insanity
It seems tha rain'll never let up
I try to keep my head up, and still keep from gettin wet up
You know it's funny when it rains it pours
They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor
Say there ain't no hope for the youth and the truth is
It ain't no hope for tha future
And then they wonder why we crazy
I blame my mother, for turning my brother into a crack baby
We ain't meant to survive, cause it's a setup
And even though you're fed up
Huh, ya got to keep your head up

Keep ya head up, ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things are gonna get brighter

And uh
To all the ladies havin' babies on they own
I know it's kinda rough and you're feelin' all alone
Daddy's long gone and he left you by ya lonesome
Thank the Lord for my kids, even if nobody else want em
Cause I think we can make it, in fact, I'm sure
And if you fall, stand tall and comeback for more
Cause ain't nothin' worse than when your son
Wants to kno' why his daddy don't love him no mo'
You can't complain you was dealt this
Hell of a hand without a man, feelin' helpless
Because there's too many things for you to deal with
Dying inside, but outside you're looking fearless
While tears, is rollin' down your cheeks
Ya steady hopin' things don't all down this week
Cause if it did, you couldn't take it, and don't blame me
I was given this world I didn't make it
And now my son's gettin' older and older and cold
From havin' the world on his shoulders
While the rich kids is drivin' Benz
I'm still tryin' to hold on to my survivin' friends
And it's crazy, it seems it'll never let up, but
Please, you got to keep your head up

Too many misled boys in the hood have bought into the notion that, in order to escape, you have to sell rock or have a wicked jump shot. It’s a sad state of affairs but it is what it is. The poor souls who’ve fallen through the cracks look up to the likes of E-40 and the late Big Papa for direction.

You don’t need a Ph.D. in chemistry or pimpology to figure out what they’re talking about. Ironically, when this song comes on in the club white girls flock the dance floor!  Anyhow, the foolish ghetto boys who smell what the rock is cookin’ live by the Ten Crack Commandments...

Biggie Smalls - Ten Crack Commandments

(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

It's the ten crack commandments, what?
Nigga can't tell me nothing about this coke
Can't tell me nothing about this crack, this weed, my hustlin' niggas
Niggas on the corner I ain't forget you niggas, my triple beam niggas
I've been in this game for years, it made me an animal
It's rules to this shit, I wrote me a manual
A step-by-step booklet for you to get
Your game on track, not your wig pushed back
Rule Number Uno, never let no one know
How much dough you hold cause you know
The cheddar breed jealousy 'specially
If that man fucked up, get yo' ass stuck up
Number 2, never let 'em know your next move
Don't you know Bad Boys move in silence and violence?
Take it from your highness
I done squeezed mad clips at these cats for their bricks and chips
Number 3, never trust no-bo-dy
Your moms'll set that ass up, properly gassed up
Hoodied and masked up, shit, for that fast buck
She be laying in the bushes to light that ass up
Number 4, I know you heard this before
Never get high on your own supply
Number 5, never sell no crack where you rest at
I don't care if they want a ounce, tell 'em bounce!
Number 6, that goddamn credit? Dead it
You think a crackhead paying you back, shit forget it!
7, this rule is so underrated
Keep your family and business completely separated
Money and blood don't mix like 2 dicks and no bitch
Find yourself in serious shit
Number 8, never keep no weight on you!
Them cats that squeeze your guns can hold jums too
Number 9 shoulda been Number 1 to me,
If you ain't gettin' bagged stay the fuck from police
If niggas think you snitchin' they ain't trying to listen
They be sittin' in your kitchen, waiting to start hittin'
Number 10, a strong word called consignment
Strictly for live men, not for freshmen
If you ain't got the clientele, say "hell no!"
'Cause they gon' want they money rain sleet hail snow
Follow these rules you'll have mad bread to break up
If not, 24 years on the wake up
Slug hit your temple, watch your frame shake up
Caretaker did your makeup, when you passed
Your girl fucked my man Jake up, heard in three weeks
She sniffed a whole half of cake up
Heard she suck a good dick, and can hook a steak up
Gotta go gotta go, more pies to bake up, word up

My point is, when life hands you ascorbic acid and yellow #5, make ‘lemonade’! :)

P.S.

The picture of 2-Pac throwin' up the "W" you posted on the "Open Conspiracy" thread is the 'universal' sign for:

twenty one pilots: Stressed Out

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXRviuL6vMY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXRviuL6vMY

I wish I found some better sounds no one’s ever heard
I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words
I wish I found some chords in an order that is new
I wish I didn't have to rhyme every time I sang
I was told when I get older all my fears would shrink
But now I’m insecure and I care what people think

My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
We're stressed out

Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young
How come I’m never able to identify where it’s coming from
I’d make a candle out of it if I ever found it
Try to sell it, never sell out of it, I’d probably only sell one
It’d be to my brother, 'cause we have the same nose
Same clothes homegrown a stone’s throw from a creek we used to roam
But it would remind us of when nothing really mattered
Out of student loans and tree-house homes we all would take the latter

My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
We used to play pretend, give each other different names
We would build a rocket ship and then we’d fly it far away
Used to dream of outer space but now they’re laughing at our face

Saying, "Wake up, you need to make money"
Yeah :) :D  ;)

We used to play pretend, give each other different names
We would build a rocket ship and then we'd fly it far away
Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face
Saying, "Wake up, you need to make money"
Yeah

Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
Wish we could turn back time, to the good old days
When our momma sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out
Used to play pretend, used to play pretend, bunny
We used to play pretend, wake up, you need the money

Used to play pretend, used to play pretend, bunny
We used to play pretend, wake up, you need the money
We used to play pretend, give each other different names
We would build a rocket ship and then we’d fly it far away
Used to dream of outer space but now they’re laughing at our face
Saying, "Wake up, you need to make money"
Yeah

Songs are most often written as poetry, however one might define 'poetry' with a possible musical accomplishment.

Linking poetic thoughts with music is one thing but poetry does not always require music or 'music' (however one might define it) to realise its potential to enlightenment or uplifting a spirit to further contemplation of one's own self and self-worth and those of others who often remain brilliant at their crafts and go virtually un-noticed.

'Exposing' 'Truth' (or 'truths' as it should be) in a 'song' is one thing; uplifting an individual or individuals is something quite different.

Personally, I pretend nothing. I do what I do for no favours. I do not wish to foist my opinions upon others.

However, I would like to share this work under the guise of this thread.

It was written during my period of as a poetic.

THIS WAS MY REALITY

The screaming bat
fluttered violently
in the night,
screeching its vampire song
against the flickering shadows
of the fire.
I turned the spit;
fat crackled on the rabbit's skin,
browned it; sending juices running
into my hungry bowels.
I shifted my leg,
lest the cramp of the day
break my tomorrow's journey.
The bat was silent.
Only leaves moved, now,
silently, changing hues
in the damp firelight.

I rested my head
upon the pillow of my soul;
my eyelids closed
and the day was gone.
The skin of night had fallen
upon my world.

Tomorrow came.
Yesterday was but a memory,
lost as a shadow
when light shifts.
Life stirred about me,
unknowing.
I drew myself about me
and hastened to depart.
Shuffling the coals of yesterday,
I greeted the shaft of light
that bespoke the sun,
flashy in its newness.
The forest flowed past me.
What I missed I don't know.
What life was going on
I don't know.
Surely, in some other part of the world,
people were dying,
being born,
making love,
fighting,
sleeping;
the whole gamut of life.
But here I was,
tramping unknown paths
only being able to contemplate these things.
People going to work,
people climbing on buses,
talking, walking, riding.
Pistons; millions of pistons,
moving up and down in cars.
Doors opening; closing.
How much to think about!
A staggering multitude
of human machinery.

And here I was;
one soul in this universe
of being.
And what of it all?
Did some ultimate purpose
hand in suspended animation
waiting for discovery,
or was it all 'just happening'?
Flowers budding,
all over the world.
Flowers dying, being put into vases;
vases being made in a factory,
the factory run by men;
each man with his own life,
each life important only to itself.
Itself only cells multiplying;
each gene replicating itself,
endlessly.
And each atom of each gene,
bursting with potential energy,
and that energy pervading
the Whole.
Was this not life?

It was so fantastic.
I stopped...
the world below me,
shining in the sun,
or rain,
or wind;
it didn't matter,
did it?
Life was life.
Happiness could be here;
one must find it, by living.
What of the elements?
all part of the whole.
While I stood here,
ammonia was being thrown
in some-one's face.
A bank was being held up, somewhere.
Dozens of them. Hundreds.
Wives were scolding children going to school;
an arab was bargaining in a market place;
a flea was biting a dog;
a scab was forming on a wound.
It was too much for one person.
I was breathless at its contemplation.
My mind would burst

I stepped into a cow-pat.
This, was my reality!

Best wishes...

This track has long been a favourite of mine. The lyrics seem very relevant for today's impending world fascist state.
Interestingly the inner sleeve of the record has a picture of the band standing in front of a back drop of the World Trade Centre.

Image
Lyrics

I'm just a tick in a box on a questionnaire
another moment that flashes into nowhere
a brand name on a pill that get's you there, ah ah ah ah
I'm getting nothing and expecting oblivion
the past aint even worth livin in
its just a nail that keeps being driven in ah ah ah ah
I'm cold blooded and completely relaxed
I'm breaking legs and avoiding the facts
on the up escalator going down all the cracks, yeah ah ah ah

You are the dummies of another frightened nation
I am a candidate for elevation
but when i woke up this morning I'd lost all sensation
all sensation

So get them, get him, but don't get me
ah uh ah ah can't hear your cries
so don't get me to fill up your empty lives
i i i i ives Empty lives

Your empty lives Empty lives
Be obedient, there is no escape
Forms to fill, time to kill love death and rape
Sleep baby sleep, don't let nothing awaken you ahhhhhhhh
Don't look for tomorrow, it's given you the slip
that's all contained on a silicon chip
I'm losing shape for the eighties feeling everybody's grip slip
everybody's grip slip

So get them, get him, but don't get me
ah uh ah ah can't hear your cries
so don't get me to fill up your empty lives
i i i i ives Empty lives

Just there waiting to be filled
with someone else's stronger will
Just can't reason to survive with empty empty
you got the empty empty, You got the empty empty,
empty lives!Yeah!

(solo)

Bring me water, bring me cocaine
Bring me something lethal, something that leaves a stain
But please don't make me feel that emptiness again
Feel the emptyness again

So get them, get him, but don't get me
ah uh ah ah get fat it's your size but
don't get me to fill up your empty
don't get me to fill up your empty
don't get me to fill up your empty lives
i i i i i i i ives Your empty lives
Your empty lives

Try figuring out the translation of this. Its pretty mental

'6 million screaming souls, maybe misery, maybe nothing at all'.

From a band who got a British number one. That album is actually entirely bonkers. This band (if you dont know them) are probably responsible for launching the whole phenomena of teenage self-harm. Their lyric-writing guitarist disappeared (presumed suicide.) Some of the lyrics on that album are truly crazy shit, really crazy. 'we are all of walking abortion, shalom, shalom we all love our children'. Actually everything to do with that band's entire career ought to be scrutinised, including their trip to Cuba to play for Castro (i shit you not) who said, dismissively 'they cant be louder than war'. Dont know what is going on there. Wonder what shape they think the earth is.

But is it turning Billy? is it Billy?

He has form: Goodnight Saigon and the like. Also toured the Soviet Union. Imagine all that Glasnost and Perestroika giving the political freedom to finally hear Uptown Girl.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Joe ... Union_trip

Speaking of western artists touring communist countries, here is Wham in China.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/foi ... 49,00.html

'wham and 100 acolytes'? ACOLYTES? since when do 80s pop bands have acolytes. Where are MY acolytes? And my fucking actinides?

This is interesting, purports to be an embassy report, released under the British Freedom of Information act detailing the circumstances of Wham's trip to china.

I have only watched about 5 minutes of this. It seems highly entertaining. I wonder if they did a musical tribute to Jiang zemin's gnomic three represents theory.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Represents

What is it with east-asian autocracies and expressing poltical intentions through groups of three?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Alls_Policy

The policy attributed to the Japanese during their campaign in China. The three alls are 'Kill all', 'burn all' and 'loot all'. Wake me up before you gogo mr. swapped around fake japanese Emperor.

https://translate.google.co.uk/translat ... t=&act=url

Click here on the 'Emperor Swap Theory' section to read some garbled, but not improbable claims about Emperor doppelgängers and the like and blaming the Rothschilds. Also seems to blame the British for leaking military secrets during the battle of Tsushima. Actually the wikipedia list of conspiracy theories as perceived by the Japanese is very interesting, blaming Otaku culture on western freemasonry and the like. I am almost entirely sure that is true. I also believe that there is a reason that there is a reason why the only piece of Japanese visual art any westerner is likely to be able to name is the 'the dream of the fisherman's wife'.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dream ... man's_Wife

We are sold an image of the japanese as a bunch of comic book, robot and bukkake-obsessed perverts who require American occupation to prevent them reverting to their 'fascistic' and 'octopus-shagging' ways. Imagine living in a country where there is an enforced belief that you had two nuclear bombs dropped on you as punishment for the Nanking Massacre (probably a hoax, I mostly blame Sidney Rittenberg and the composer Hanns Eisler's Brother. Possibly also Theodor Heuss who, if you google him, might actually be Chairman Mao.) Not only this you have the whole mess of lies and hoaxing that was Fukushima and all this weird Zaibatsu company-man culture. No wonder they are not having children! America has absolutely raped Korea and Japan and its stationed servicemen have turned Thailand, Vietnam and other countries into huge corrupt brothels. Just imagine living with such a weird long term nuclear hoax on top of you! And kept going with things like this...

How would you feel? Would you feel a bit like this?

From songs that expose or express truth to songs that ARE the truth. This is what American presence in Korea and the DMZ (possible) hoax and psyop has done to Korea.

Has nobody actually noticed the song Gangnam style is by an artist called PSY? If you dont immediately make a connection here, take a trip over to the gods of science thread.

Briefly back to the song 'we didnt start the fire' by Billy Joel.

Look at the name of the album it is drawn from!

Nixon's trip to china. Like THAT wasn't a faked event.

In the words of the grand NWO poobah himself Henry 'my PHD is in Metternich and the vienna congress' Kissinger
our feast consisted of many courses, some sweet and some sour, all interrelated and forming a coherent whole.

But dont you know, herr Kissinger, 'the whole is the false', as Beatles composer (no not George Martin) Adorno once said.

I dedicate this song (full of nefarious 'NWO' symbolism) to all the people who've crossed the Rubicon & have finally decided to take the giant leap for trans-mankind!

No turnin' back
It's much too late

To go back now would be a big mistake
It's taken me a while to learn
I'm at the point of no return
I'm at the point of no return

Hallelujah!

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (Official Video)

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?

Well, it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled King composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Well, your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you

She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Baby, I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you

I've seen your flag on the marble arch
But love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Well, there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do you?

But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Well, maybe there's a god above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you

It's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah!
It is quite equivalent to the pulling of justifications out of thin air. Gee, who's in the habit of that, that we are familiar with?
