TET-execution award-winning photograph busted

Well, we can now throw that infamous "TET execution" into the grand WAR PROPAGANDA dustbin - and confidently label that AP photographer Eddie Adams as yet another pathetic media-whore and liar. As demonstrated below, Eddie wasn't even there - and even if he was anywhere near this location, he could never have made that iconic, internationally acclaimed / award-winning photograph he claims to have snapped. There was simply no room for both a photographer AND a cameraman to have captured this split-second scene:

ImageImage

Moreover, that man seen running behind the scene in Eddie's alleged photograph is, in the cameraman's footage, way past the scene at the moment that the shot is fired. The still and moving images are dreadfully out of sync. Another 'media icon' bites the dust.

The same thing occurred to me watching that video. It's possible for someone to have dashed up and snapped the perfect picture at the perfect moment, but not plausible. "War Propaganda" seems to be the most likely explanation for war time imagery. Duh.

I had a look at the award-winning picture discussed above. It has some serious shadow issues. How come I am not surprised? Maybe that´s why the background has been washed out and the third man has been left out in one of its popular versions.

A couple of telling details:

There are other differences between the versions, such as the victims´s hair and the shooter´s neck.

Fascinating. Great work finding the anomalies. One thing I would add is the clouds in the background of the non-washed out images don't seem realistic at all. Another thing to note is that as one story goes, the photo was originally supposed to be taken indoors but the General moved it outside for better lighting. In my opinion, the entire thing was clearly staged, so when Eddie Adams says he didn't know what he was shooting, that's obviously rubbish, it was staged from start to finish and General Loan was given a safe getaway to the U.S. after the war. http://ldesign.wordpress.com/2007/01/09 ... make-them/
http://blogs.photopreneur.com/worlds-mo ... ged-photos

Here is yet another version of the execution photo:

Image

2 things to note:

* Washed out background with foreground remaining dense and not washed out.
* Black dots in the area where the clouds are.

Photographer/Photojournalist and Pulitzer Prize Winner Eddie Adams.

1. Most well known for his photos of celebrities, politicians and 13 wars.
2. Adams served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as a combat photographer.
3. Adams received over 500 awards, including the George Polk Award for News Photography in 1968, 1977 and 1978, and numerous awards from World Press Photo, NPPA, Sigma Delta Chi, Overseas Press Club, and many other organizations.
4. Wrote the following in Time Magazine (bold mine):
The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them; but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths. ... What the photograph didn't say was, 'What would you do if you were the general at that time and place on that hot day, and you caught the so-called bad guy after he blew away one, two or three American people?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Adam ... grapher%29

5) Eddie Adams also has a documentary about his "iconic photo" entitled "An Unlikely Weapon: The Eddie Adams Story"
If you can stomach it, read the the synopsis of the documentary, it reads like a bad teen novel or Hollywood B-Movie. Utter crap. :puke: http://www.anunlikelyweapon.com/synopsis.html

Here's a clip, I highly recommend watching it and deciding for yourself about the credibility of Eddie Adams: :D

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40snqTlnqCw

6) Note in the above clip, Eddie Adams claims that he didn't know who the man was that pulled out the pistol. As we shall see, this is an absolute lie. This photoshoot was staged and this photographer just happens upon an execution without knowing the man is the General, he just thinks he's "some guy, I dunno." Of course the purpose of this is to generate sympathy for the photographer and keep the public ignorant of his role in the operation. Remember, this isn't just your average photographer, he is 100% military / marine.

7) Also note that the above clip contains the color, more detailed (and graphic) version of the video in the animated .gif that Simon posted earlier. In that clip, the video is paused as Adams highlight himself in the background. Note that he is on the opposite side at this point, a little bit further away from the group than the videographer.

8) Adams says he had a 35mm lens and took a single frame. What are the odds? He says he saw a spout of blood and didn't want to take anymore shots and actually jokes and laughs saying "someone tell me when it's done." Of course he also took this shot afterwards.

Image

9) Adams is in with celebrities and has been for a long time. Some of his portrait projects include Ronald Reagan, Fidel Castro, Malcolm X, Clint Eastwood, Bette Davis, Oliver Stone, Louis Armstrong, Bill Cosby, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Travolta and Jerry Lewis. He is very much "part of the club" both in terms of military and Hollywood and is well known as one of the most published photographers. Keifer Sutherland, star of the popular terror propaganda show 24, narrates An Unlikely Weapon. This photo, in my opinion speaks volumes as to the access he had to the elite.

Image

10) As it turns out, Eddie Adams is quite the storyteller! Check out the bit where he says he was warned not to board a plane in Zambia. :o http://www.shutterbug.com/content/eddie ... ells-story

11) None of Adams' war photographs were ever published in a book until 2009, 5 years after his death when Eddie Adams: Vietnam was published. While searching through his photos, I came across this gem, which I have saved for last as the final nail in the coffin of this staged photograph psyop and trickery. This should be 100% proof that Eddie Adams (assuming it was actually him who was there), knew exactly what was happening, and wasn't just witness to a random coincidental execution, but rather part of a pre-planned and well executed military and media psychological operation. (Red arrows added by me) http://www.npr.org/multimedia/2009/03/v ... index.html

Image

Well, what do we have here? Might I say, BUSTED?

a) Who is this mysterious well dressed and groomed gentleman to the right with the nice watch? He looks awfully clean cut and freshly showered for being in a warzone. This is most likely the "behind the scenes" director/CIA agent for this psyop. He is managing the positioning of the soldiers so that his camera guys (still and video) can get their propaganda shots. You can see the lens of the other camera on the right.

d) Where is the General? Do the other soldiers appear in the execution photo or are they entirely different soldiers from one photo to the next?

c) Compare and contrast the difference in backgrounds between this photo and the execution photo. Note that in the execution photo they are now considerably further down the street, I would say perhaps even at least a few minutes later. These gentlemen are walking the entire time with the director managing the entire event for the cameras.

d) What exactly are the two "antennae" looking things on the left, behind the soldier wearing sunglasses? What is the photoshop looking "smudge tool" on the left near where I have labeled it with a question mark? It almost appears as if there may have been someone removed from the photo with remnants of a shoe at the bottom. I can't make out what it is either way.

I think it is safe to say that this military phonytographer has done quite well for himself over the years and has been rewarded for serving his country. 13 different wars equals a lot of propaganda and at the end of his career, he got to live a nice life, photographing celebrities and making good money doing so. In addition to his celebrity and political photography work, Eddie Adams also had plenty of freelance work and side projects such as the Eddie Adams Workshop, ensuring that top dollar flows into his bank account continuously. He passed away in 2004.
http://www.eddieadamsworkshop.com/

If I might speculate for a moment, this is proof of a staged photo-op. Can we assume that perhaps this person was set to be executed for crimes committed and the fakers decided to use it as an opportunity to sell it as something else in order to pump up the war propaganda? "Well, if he's already scheduled to be executed, there's nothing we can do about it. Let's use it to our advantage and create a story."

Finally, just for humor's sake, I think we can safely conclude that the following version of the photo is more accurate than the story we have been told. :D

Adams said in the above video, “According to the US Army the bullet was still in his head when the picture was taken,” but why is there no visible entry wound on the man's head in his photo?

There is also no blood visible on the shooter in the subsequent photo which clearly shows his front side and his gun hand yet his hand was only inches away from the man's head when he allegedly fired. Can you shoot a man in the head from inches away without getting at least some blood on you?

Image

The video shows motion picture footage of the event. The footage is silent. It was shot without sound yet we "hear" the sound of the shot. Obviously this sound effect was added later. Why? To make it more believable, perhaps?

Someone conveniently crosses in front of the movie camera just prior to the “shot” – perhaps to make a cut or other manipulation more easily concealed?

Image
If someone pulled out an object and raised it toward your head while you were handcuffed wouldn't you at least take a look at the object to see what it was?

In the frame where the shot is fired there is no visible muzzle flash from the short barreled .38 revolver ...
Image
... and the "recoil" does not look convincing to me when it is fired and, more importantly, no motion of the head away from the "shot." The muzzle energy of a 38 special is approximately 310 foot pounds -- force equivalent to that required to move a 310 pound weight a distance of 1 foot. Yet the man's head does not appear to move one inch in the direction away form the gun when it fires.

In fact, if you watch the footage without sound (so you don't hear the added gunshot sound) it looks like the shooter simple jerks his hand a bit and the man reacts at the same time and falls.

What a short barreled .38 looks like when fired:

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YPwL5L_d0c

One last point -- in the above video interview of Adams he says the shooter was identified as both a Chief of Police and a General. Wartime or not, would a person in that position really murder someone in front of at least 2 nearby press cameras recording the event?

Malcolm Browne won a Pulitzer Prize for his renowned photograph of the monk's death. After his death, his body was re-cremated, but his heart remained intact.
Image
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thich_Quang_Duc

Image

This Pulitzer Prize winning photo (1st above) was the one that started it all for the U.S. regarding the Viet Nam War. Additionally, the photo of Thich Quang Duc was the 1st of the 3 Pulitzers apparently introducing anti-South Vietnamese imagery (but the North were the communist bad guys!!??) (Rage Against The Machine additionally uses this photo as the cover of their debut album, FWIW -- Cluesforum entry here.)

Enter Daniel Ellsberg, RAND employee who was reportedly present for the very well advertised "False Flag" Gulf of Tonkin incident,
Ellsberg served in the Pentagon from August 1964 under Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara (and, in fact, was on duty on the evening of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, reporting the incident to McNamara).
and of course, additionally, was most famous for the whistle-blowing release of the the Pentagon Papers in 1971 that revealed that the Viet Nam War was known to be un-winnable among other bad things.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagon_Papers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Ellsberg
http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1871.html

Daniel would also become a future recipient of one of the Ridenhour prizes. These days, he appears to promote Snowden, Wikileaks and Bradley Manning.

http://www.ellsberg.net/

A fascinating transition was the 'Napalm Girl's' migrating to the propaganda of the communist North as I mentioned in a previous post (also seen in 1st photo below, all grown up and accompanied by photographer, Nick Ut.) Regarding the North's leader Ho Chi Minh, its interesting to note... he was god-father of a child of a French history teacher who was also member of the French Resistance during World War II , and he apparently visited and lived in a few other Western countries in his early days. ( Remember a famous French media personality freely interviewing the hospitalized prisoner John McCain and the North Vietnamese PM just a page ago?...)

Image

Image

And then a reappearance of Jonestown attorney and conspiracy theorist, Mark Lane... And one-time Presidential Candidate and current Secretary of State, John Kerry...
The name "Winter Soldier Investigation" was proposed by Mark Lane, and was derived from Thomas Paine's first American Crisis paper, written in December 1776. When future Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry, then a decorated Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve (Inactive), later spoke before a Senate Committee, he explained,

"We who have come here to Washington have come here because we feel we have to be winter soldiers now. We could come back to this country; we could be quiet; we could hold our silence; we could not tell what went on in Vietnam, but we feel because of what threatens this country, the fact that the crimes threaten it, not reds, and not redcoats but the crimes which we are committing that threaten it, that we have to speak out
Image

No wonder the soldiers came home so dizzy. I am, just investigating the stuff.

Let me share some thoughts on Vietnam war , fake college shootings , Jane Fondas etc.

First of all . What kind of war was it ? Soviet Union was an Anglo-American creation and an obedient puppet propped up by Oligarchic money from the very beginning . I am not convinced by this whole "stopping communism" non sense . If London-NY money interest wanted Vietnam to be capitalist versus socialist it would have been done just by giving an order to its servants in Kremlin . No war needed .

I can see this whole genocidal madness as a pure money grab and a way of utilizing inventories stockpiled with weapons during WWII and early "Cold War" . In the beginning we had the Bolshevik boogeymen and resulting conflicts in Korea and later in Vietnam .

American/Western European public was in constant state of fear of advancing communism , we saw propaganda machine pushing this psyop via Cuban crisis , sputnik , nuclear weapons etc. It was a solid base for future conflicts and so called public opinion was all in favor , American GIs were fighting communists after all . Winning public opinion is very important to the PERPS , they all read Machiavelli and his "Prince" makes it clear that fooling the masses is essential for continuous and fruitful governance/exploitation .

After many years of the involvement in South East Asia it was time to pack the toys and leave . American government couldn't have just left , doing so could have made it look weak , indecisive , foolish or treacherous and what not . Consequences of such a one side decision might be serious in "power" business .

This is where Jane Fonda and a fake anti war movement comes to play . American government bent down before the giant public uproar , anti war sentiment . This is the official version for retreating from and 'losing" in Vietnam . One unintended consequence was an emergence of the genuine dissent and anti war activists among American youth . Students for Democratic Society come to mind . These people could one day become dangerous and create a real alternative for the fake 2 party paradigm .

No problem , CIA produced "terrorist" cells like Weathermen to discredit all decent people really protesting the war , pushing drugs and sexual revolution also served the purpose .

Just like you said Hoi , today we are just watching TV counting on some super heroes to get things done for us . Yes we can :)

Well stated, BTO. I'm not even sure that even the Students For a Democratic Society were necessarily legit, but who knows?

After all was said and done, what a tragedy it was for all who fought and were either injured or died for each of their respective causes as well as for those displaced in the South due to the regime change.

I think there were a lot of well intended people amongst the early SDS but the well-intended are easily manipulated or steam rolled and factions like that of Lyndon LaRouche (known as Lynn Marcus back then) clearly had agendas and/or marching orders to control what they could and disrupt what they couldn't.

At the tender age of 14 I found myself at private meetings being held in my town by the NAC, November Action Coalition, a Boston area anti-war group of little infamy and referenced here:

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/1969/ ... ns-pi-the/

http://www.thecrimson.com/article/1969/ ... t-ask-end/

Not mentioned in those articles was the groups clear and undisputed leader, a man named Miles Rappaport:

http://www.demos.org/miles-rapoport

I remember talk at those meetings was leaning towards civil disobedience and criminal activity against the war. They were talking about the Weatherman and emulating their example as the Days of Rage in Chicago has recently occurred. They were abruptly banned from the building they were meeting in and being a dorky little kid I was not kept informed of future meetings or activities. I think they were rumored to have committed some minor acts of destruction around Boston that never amounted to anything and history on them seems to be justifiably scarce.
However I do find it interesting that their charismatic leader can clearly be viewed as an insider based on that bio. The question for me is was he an insider back then and I suspect he was and had orders to develop the NAC for possible more covert uses. It is a small example but for me it points to the fact that much of the antiwar movement was highly controlled and used in part to recruit, audition, and develop "talent".

Happily I was also too young for the draft but in my very working class town not all were so lucky. One older neighbor and the older brother of a friend both went to war, came back as junkies and alcoholics and both died in their 20's. A current friend spent a good portion of his childhood in Vietnam, his father was working for the CIA there laying war plans, they left in 1966. He loved it there.

Weird. Fonda, McCain, Stockdale, Kerry ... why were there so many actors-cum-politicians in the Viet Nam story? We know Hollywood and the government have always been close bedfellows, but it makes one wonder if any part of the war was filmed in studios. It would make sense from a propaganda perspective not to show Americans what really happened in Viet Nam regardless of what was actually going on, there. But particularly if what was going on there was not very pleasant.

Or could it be that militant peace movements (as talked about in recent posts, the ones that may have been used to usurp genuine grassroots efforts to "stop" the war machine) and the militant battlegrounds themselves are both default recruitment centers for obedient young lackeys to play "President" back home?

It figures...

Funny, I was just about to respond back to one of your posts in this thread where you said
Being “draft bait” myself during this period and being dead-set against participating in the military in general and the VN War in particular, I spent several years fending off and finally escaping the grasp of my Draft Board's conscription efforts...
I was thinking that with all of the negative imagery that the media was barfing out in the times along with the plethora of well-known anti-war folks and famous conscientious objectors that there must of been a hell of a lot of people that felt exactly the same way you did. But alas, the draft was the law, so if you wanted to fight it, you likely needed an attorney. I imagine defending the people that didn't want to go was likely a windfall for the attorneys and even part of the game.
Leonard B. Boudin (July 20, 1912- November 24, 1989) was an American civil liberties attorney and left-wing activist who represented Daniel Ellsberg of Pentagon Papers fame and Dr. Benjamin Spock, the author of Baby and Child Care, who advocated draft resistance during the Vietnam War. Other opponents of the Vietnam war whom he represented were Julian Bond, William Sloan Coffin, and Philip Berrigan.
There's lots more interesting stuff in his wiki, but this is one of the most wow-ing.
He married Jean Roisman, a poet. Together they had two children, Michael and Kathy, who achieved recognition in later life.

Kathy Boudin was an activist and co-founder of the 1960s radical group the Weather Underground, who served 22 years in prison for her role in a 1981 robbery that left two police officers and a security guard dead.
Kathy, of course is one of the former 'American terrorists' who is currently an adjunct professor at Columbia University.

And the robbery that she was reported to have been involved in features a person who is the only American to have the notoriety to have been victimized in 2 separate terrorist attacks (Weathermen, 9/11.)

And, I bet this guys court case was heavily promoted and used to change some outlooks on the war and/or perhaps scare the heck outta some draft avoiders.
