Interesting...I don't find that photo when I do a google image search of "libyan protesters"...I guess you must be special.

But on to a more important point. There's a big difference between a photoshopped photo published from a news agency (reuters, AP, cnn, etc.) and some random photoshopped propaganda photo from some random propaganda website.

PLEASE SOURCE YOUR MATERIALS! I'm sure Simon/et al. will agree that it is extremely important.

Yes, it is important to post the source webpage that any image appears on (not just the image url link) in order to verify where, why and by whom it was posted.

It also saves us time sourcing it through Google Image Search — i.e. by clicking the camera icon in the Google search bar & pasting the image url (which shows all sites where the same image is posted).

e.g.

3 versions of the same photo. Each version telling a subtly different story based on the cropping. Curious.

Oh yeah. Sorry about that Upstream. I got a little carried away with my finding and wasn't thinking clearly. B) From now on I'll source any pic I find and post. Also, that is a great tool Maat and thanks for sharing. I wasn't aware of that google capability either. B)

Re: the cop, yes it looks as though they didn't use "anti-aliasing" on that dumbfounded looking cop. Possibly inserted to paint some kind of subliminal message. What that is I cannot say.

Re: New World Order and Gorbachev - Gorbachev is always prattling on about the New World Order, what else is new? He has to believe that he still has influence on the masses.

The "Hegelian Dialectic" is applicable fear to any situation where there is a mass of people doing anything. Fear of the unknown powers moving it. It's without basis and it's a tired argument.

For a bunch of anonymous people online who hope for change we sure seem to complain a lot when it is actually happening. Point to one united goal that the Occupy movement has left open to attack by the media. You can't. To me that means it is legit and remains intriguing.

Of course there are those evil powers who are behind 9/11 and all that - blah blah - who will use it as an excuse to arrest people en masse and send them to prison or wage war or do some other horrible stuff. Those people are going to do that anyway - whether we are sitting on our asses or out on the street.

Let the people get some frickin' exercise and maybe - if you really want to do them a favor - go outside with them and listen to what they are hoping to achieve. Maybe you can help make it happen and make a difference. There are some ideas I hear from people I like and other ideas I don't like. I enjoy going out and making my opinion known instead of just complaining about the hoaxes of this world. Let's go sit down with them and talk about these hoaxes we're always going on about!

:P

Excuse me if I seem to be on the morale patrol but it seems like it's all whining on this forum sometimes. What possible bad could arise from this? And if you see it as an evil possibility why aren't you out there warning them about it? This might be a time people will actually listen.

Do we hope to sit on the sidelines and wag our finger when something bad happens and say, "See? See? I told you, we never should have been out there trying anything ... "

Fine but then point out something interesting or wrong about it all. I'm curious.

I just learned a newly coined term the other day... SLACKTIVISM.

from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slacktivism
Slacktivism (sometimes slactivism or slackervism) is a portmanteau formed out of the words slacker and activism. The word is usually considered a pejorative term that describes "feel-good" measures, in support of an issue or social cause, that have little or no practical effect other than to make the person doing it feel satisfaction. The acts tend to require minimal personal effort from the slacktivist. The figure to the right, shows the activity flow that leads to activism or “slacktivism”, and highlights the role of social media as a facilitator of this action [1].
Slacktivism process diagram [2]

Slacktivist activities include signing Internet petitions,[3] joining a community organization without contributing to the organization's efforts, copying and pasting of Social Network statuses or messages or altering one's personal data or avatar on social network services.
I feel like in a way, the internet leads us to this. And in that way, IS more dangerous than TV. With internet we may become aware of what's going on...but totally submissive, satisfied that all our message boarding/blogging/facebooking/email chaining...etc, is actually moving someone, somewhere to actual action.

I've been reassessing myself and life lately and realized that unless I get off my A#$ and get truly involved in my community and the goings on there...I am truly, a slacktivist. :(

Awareness (of anything) is the first step in making a change. Start with a change in perceptions, then values, behavior, habits.
Change in perception -- expanding awareness, an active mind.
Change in values -- change "that which one acts to gain or keep"

When we are bringing more awareness of a reality we each may want to live, and how such a reality can be created, and how it is possible that "I" can create that reality and am worthy of experiencing that reality, . . .
when we are, through displaying our considered thought on the screen for the world to see, are we not participating in activism, though in a non-traditional way?

What is the goal of this particular site? The awakening (activating) of other minds to the fabrications of all media formerly deemed real, to deactivate the "suspension of dis-belief". Why can't this be called "modern activism"?

It all starts in the mind.

They just sit there with heads bowed -- not even looking up at the guys getting it ahead of them? Not even putting their hands over their faces? And, most of them have hoods raised as if expecting this? WTF?

As I said before, It doesn't really matter how a movement is sold to the public by the media, it doesn't matter whether a movement is demonized or praised, what matters is intent.

Are the "Occupy" movements created by CIA, to speed up the NWO?? (Part 1):

The 'photos' are "interesting" indeed — by Brian Nguyen, reportedly photographer for UC Davis’s student newspaper The Aggie, but no Exif data (how surprising  )

Is that spray only 'skin specific', can't stain anything else?

Does any of this look 'natural'? And is it just me, or is there something weird about the perspective too — spraying the girl after he's passed her position?
Who wouldn't cover their face with their hands if they saw pepper spray coming!
