I had not paid too much attention to this until updated accounts added a 9/11 twist:
"SEATTLE — The man had been banned from the artsy Seattle cafe for acting out, but he showed up anyway and tried to place an order. After the barista declined to serve him, he stood up, took out a gun and began shooting as people scrambled for cover.
One man tried to stop him.
Grabbing the only weapons at hand – bar stools – he tossed them at the gunman, even as the man aimed at him, Assistant Police Chief Jim Pugel said Thursday after reviewing surveillance video of the massacre. The tactic created enough of a delay in the shooting that two or three other customers managed to escape.
"My brother died in the World Trade Center," the man later told police, who provided an account of the interview. After his brother's death, he said, he resolved that if something like this ever happened, "I would never hide under a table."
Lawrence Adams told The Seattle Times that his brother, an employee at the Windows on the World restaurant, had been killed in the World Trade Center attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."

I have been unable to find a photo of Mr Adams. Some accounts like that in the UK Daily Mail do not mention his heroic acts at all.

Some of the victims seem to be real. The band "God's Favorite Beefcake" has Youtube videos from 2009 featuring the deceased. Is it possible the event is real but the "hero" was added after the fact?

It is possible but it is also possible, and much more likely, that the event is entirely fake and whatever you found about it on the internet has been added retroactively and does not prove anyone or anything to be real.MrSinclair wrote:Some of the victims seem to be real. I also cannot help seeing a further 9/11 connection through the TV show "Frasier", that in large part was set in a cafe in Seattle, "Cafe Nervosa", and whose creator was a 9/11 victim, etc etc.
Regardless, I think it is time we open a separate area of the forum for all the shootings and similar local events that we recorded over the years. They would make quite an impression all together. And I think they would suggest quite transparently how simply and continuously the dark, fearful spirit of society is kept alive by the staging and re-staging of such events, probably since the days of Jack The Ripper.
For what is worth: "Lee Stawicki" = "Wackiest Lie"

Here is a booking shot of the perp presumably from a previous arrest although no details are offered.

The coffee shop had a security camera and this photo is purported to be a still from the time of the incident.
This one would have been prior to the start of the shooting. The three men at the bar were his three male victims and the woman at the table was the other.

This is the only other photo I've found from the security camera. Obviously it is meant to be from after the shootings. A few things are suspect here. I can't see any bodies or signs of blood from 4 shooting victims. Also, the 9/11 hero claims to have driven him from the place by throwing stools at him, is this just a break in the action?

If the band is backstopped they went to great lengths, more than with the typical vicsims of 9/11 or Oslo so I hesitate to call them vicsims just yet. If they are real the response of the tight knit musical community should be authentic and more convincing then the crap we see debunked so often on this site.
Overall nothing really makes sense or seems entirely convincing about this shooting and anything is possible. It does seem thematically resonant with so many other incidents we have become inured to for the most part. If the goal is desensitizing people to mindless violence they are doing a great job.

Here are two of the 911 calls associated with the event. They seem entirely authentic and convincing to me, the fright and trauma in the woman's voice as she witnesses the shooting are unforgettable.

I wonder if you are on the right forum, MrSinclair, if newsmedia has this suggestive and convincing power on you. How are you ever going to understand media fakery? There is nothing unforgettable in that call. The 9/11 phone calls have better actors, and those are lousy as well.MrSinclair wrote: Here are two of the 911 calls associated with the event. Given the horrible bad acting and my rolled eyes I would have thought my attempt at sarcasm would have been clear. So let me be clear that it is absolute crap and the whole incident seems entirely suspect to me.nonhocapito wrote:I wonder if you are on the right forum, MrSinclair, if newsmedia has this suggestive and convincing power on you. I agree. It sounds like it could just as well be acting to me. I don't think something that sounds "convincing" necessarily means it's real these days.nonhocapito wrote:I wonder if you are on the right forum, MrSinclair, if newsmedia has this suggestive and convincing power on you. Well, I'm sure your meaning would have been clear if you had actually used the 'rolleyes' > emoticon instead of the 'unsure' > , MrSinclairMrSinclair wrote:Given the horrible bad acting and my rolled eyes I would have thought my attempt at sarcasm would have been clear. Oh, yes, sorry I missed that. My apologies, MrSinclair. Communication is key! Emotions (or emoticons) seem to get in the way of that sometimes. Well done, and sorry I didn't pick up on your sarcasm.
