ENDEAVOUR - the 30-year Space Shuttle hoax
Re: ENDEAVOUR - and the spaced-out NASA efforts
When thunder strikes in the vicinity here on Earth, evidently the sound arrives long after the flash. Same goes for a rocket explosion in space or vacuum. Actually the speed of sound in vacuum is 0, i.e. the sound will never arrive. Maybe they added sound to the video?

I am taking a deeper look into the French ARIANE launch clips. I'll keep posting my ARIANE observations here on this Space Shuttle thread. After all, the ARIANE is the French/European equivalent to NASA's "space shuttle", isn't it?

FIVE "ARIANE5" launches
You've got to admire the Frenchies' amazing discipline and video synchronization skills. Year after year and launch after launch, they manage to always show the same camera angle - as the countdown reaches 00:01 !

Moreover, the ARIANE countdown videos all feature this split-screen shot of what, we are told, are the two "cryogenic arms". At times, the righthand side (oxygen side) inexplicably appears in greyscale (as if shot on black & white film...):
In this "live" 2011 ARIANE launch video, the speaker explains what those arms are supposed to be. Listen to him here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxJh0ck- ... age#t=471s
"You see the yellow bars going across the center there, we're gonna get a close-up of those, in just a minute" [close-up appears, right on cue! The guy must have magic powers - or is NOT commenting LIVE on these images.]. "These are the cryogenic feeder arms, the propellant feeder arms going into the upper stage...there is a split-screen of it: liquid hydrogen on the left - liquid oxygen on the right... that's cryogenic fuel, the mix of those."
Now, as those arms are detached from the rocket, we see the righthand side of the split-screen (the "oxygen arm side") shaking wildly. Is it camera-shake? Maybe. In any case, one has to wonder why this camera only is affected by this vibration - launch after launch after launch. Here are three quick links you might wish to check out (will take only a few seconds of your time) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... TgV8o#t=6s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... XlvI#t=53s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn8wSAhk ... page#t=10s
The point being that - yet again - these clips of the ARIANE LAUNCHES appear to be chock-full of 'coincidental' weirdness. So far, it seems to me that the ARIANE imagery is no more credible than the Space Shuttle imagery.
Heiwa, what do you think?

"ARIANE LAUNCH, April 22, 2011"
Just watch this supposed ARIANE launch - and have a good laugh at that cretinous French commentator:
full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYvT_JJVj6Y
The ARIANE launch imagery is every bit as stupid as the NASA Space Shuttle imagery.
This much is clear.
It is, at the very least, just as clear as Newton's laws!
*****
In case you need help understanding why this video is totally fake:
- Listen to the absurd sound of the rocket as it rises. Its roar stays strong for far too long (up to 1:25 and beyond).
- Note the sky coloring. It switches from grey (with VERY fast clouds flying by) to a nice blue tone and almost static clouds (at 00:44) and later switches to pitch black as the rocket rises to the sky. Absurd. Won't happen in the real world.
- Watch that silly bird flying across the entire screen at 1:08. It is a classic CGI insertion to give "a feel of reality".

I'd still love to know (as I wondered when I first posted it last week on the ISS thread) why does it take the Ariane 10 days to reach the I$$ instead of 6 hours like the Soyuz?

Oh, Maat - that must be due to the tailwind the Russians get as they start off from stormy Kazakhstan.Maat wrote: I'd still love to know (as I wondered when I first posted it last week on the ISS thread) why does it take the Ariane 10 days to reach the I$$ instead of 6 hours like the Soyuz?

Excited Russia Today reporter "witnessing a Soyuz launch live".
"The raw...aah...size and power just pulsating through...this area, it's just amazing, I mean my feet are shaking now!"
Blimey! These take-offs should be X-rated!

I've posted this one before - but this other excited lady is well worth another watch:
"It's gonna get REALLY noisy out here, so I'll keep silent and let you enjoy the moment!.."

I'm also tempted to stay silent and let you enjoy the epic greenscreen fail moment...
The silly girl doesn't even turn around to watch the take off, ffs !

As our member sceppy has rightly pointed out, ALL slow take-offs that you have ever seen on TV are fake.

The beauty of Sceppy's Rule is that it can be taught to kids in kindergartens - well before they need to know about Newton's laws and whatever scientific knowledge mankind has in store for them... "Look daddy! A slow rocket! Fake as hell!"

The Russian rockets are the best ones because they don't require people to be 3 miles away to witness a launch. You only need to be a few hundred metres away (as long as you are a news reporter and a tough "deaf" female ).
Btw, please know that the oft-cited "3-mile-limit" for the average Joe to watch a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral is an outright myth and lie. You may have heard of 'Titusville' (aka "Miracle City"), which is as close as they will let commoners go (forget the 'VIP's) if they wish to watch the NASA rocket launches. Well, it's not 3miles away from the 'action'. And it is not 5 miles away. Hey, it's not even 10 miles away.
It is bloody 17,5miles away!
Or 28 friggin' kilometers! Imagine that ... the distance between Birmingham and Coventry!

It was about time that I looked this up!

Heiwa,
I'm scratching my head over a question which I hope you can help clarify for me:
The Ariane apparently weighs about 760.000kg. It's stated total power at take-off is 13MN (Mega Newton), which - as far as I can gather - is equivalent to 13.000.000 Watts - or 0.013 Giga Watts (GW).
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariane_5
Here's the Space Shuttle's stated power at takeoff: 11.000.000.000 Watts, or 11 Giga Watts (GW).
http://www.ftexploring.com/energy/power_1.html
Ok, so the Shuttle weighed about 3 times as much (2million kg) as the ARIANE.
But how can the ARIANE lift off with 846 times less power than the Shuttle?
Surely, I must be missing something here, so please help me out!

Re: Satellites : general discussion and musings
Very interesting, Simon.
17 plus miles would render anyone viewing the launches as incapable of determining size and shape of whatever lifts off from that launch pad.
I think this basically covers the ballistic missile launches masquerading as "space" rocket launches for all those real time observers with their special bird watching cameras.
Birdwatchers are known as 'twitchers' in England. I suppose watching space rocket launches we could call people who watch them, 'twatchers', which would be apt, because the space industry is certainly twatting them over these launches.
The mere fact that the rockets start to arc in the sky at low altitudes should tell anyone that they are not what they are purported to be.
Of course we get told it's because of the curvature of the earth and they follow the so called rotation clap trap...but logical sense should tell anyone that once a rocket starts to arc, the only thing from that point is to keep arcing right to the ground or into the deep blue sea...not in to deep dark space.

Re: Satellites : general discussion and musings
Or perhaps the local weather is slightly manipulated or treated with obscurants to make it too rainy, misty or hazy to see a space shuttle at a distance of 28 km. The visibility will of course be perfect on the TV news. People will rush home to watch TV instead of wasting their time standing about in the fog in Titusville. Where have I seen this before?sceppy wrote:17 plus miles would render anyone viewing the launches as incapable of determining size and shape of whatever lifts off from that launch pad.
Re: Satellites : general discussion and musings
Indeed. Here's an amateur video of the last shuttle launch. At the end of the film the guy even claims to have witnessed the separation of the two rockets from the shuttle.sceppy wrote: The mere fact that the rockets start to arc in the sky at low altitudes should tell anyone that they are not what they are purported to be.

But the arching is clearly visible. It can't possibly be much higher than 10 or 15 miles when it disappears from view, and it's already quite horizontal at this point.
However - the shuttle should have been traceable in the night sky during the time when it was up there allegedly. Just like the object representing the I$$ is. Does anyone know if the "shuttle" was visible or not? It would have been a dead giveaway if it wasn't, so I suppose there was something "up there". Probably been discussed in the shuttle thread already.
