Hello again, Critical Mass.Critical Mass wrote:What the hell does that mean?
Since there seems to be misunderstanding, I shall clarify my reply to Simon.
Simon wrote, "You stand accused of playing thought-police here. What have you to say in your defence?"
I replied by asking what Simon meant by "playing thought-police", because it is unclear to me what that could mean in this context. I can hardly defend myself against a charge without understanding what the charge means.
What I meant was all posts - not merely posts in a certain thread, but all posts - by the username "ICfreely" are blocked by a custom browser extension from appearing in my browser. The metadata of such posts - like username, time, date and so forth - still show up, but in the area where the main text of the post would normally appear there is only blank space. This is equivalent to the "ignore" function many forums have whereby users can block other users whose posts they choose not to read due to trolling, personal attacks, off-topic content or whatnot. This "ignore" function helps prevent threads degenerating into mayhem and takes some of the babysitting burden off the moderators. Is that even a real thing... "blocking posts in a thread"?
