This image may be appropriate for those who still watch tv news (without knowing what really are the news).

Very enjoyable.dblitz » 03 Jul 2017, 21:04 wrote:I just found this old story I wrote, around 2005 or 6. It has some space elements that some may disagree with, and maybe I would write it differently now, but the plot is the main thing. I would appreciate feedback as I am getting back into writing and I might even re-write this since it was a while ago now and I have an alternative ending in mind.

I think these animations illustrate how you can create anything digitally today. Including perfectly animated faces.

I only just read the story today. I also like the style. You have a knack for building tension. Don´t bother about changing it to reconcile it with your current knowledge (a never-ending task)! It´ll probably show if you do and, as you say, the plot is the main thing. It could use a tiny bit of proof-reading, though.dblitz » July 3rd, 2017, 4:04 pm wrote:I just found this old story I wrote, around 2005 or 6. Re: The Age of Media Fakery: Art Corner
This book is not new, or illustrated extremely well; but I remember it "armed" well my young brain against the mentality of some psychos.
It's just called "Rabbit and Skunk and the Scary Rock" (1976) by Carla Stevens, and you can find used copies here or there.
I wish I could show the entire thing here, but the gist is that Rabbit and Skunk are tortured and teased by a "scary rock". They argue with each other and become scared, only to find out at the end it's Woodchuck with a shit-eating crazy grin and making them scared for some personal reason he doesn't go into. The concept is simple, but it's a funny and charming way to introduce some concepts to kids. I highly recommend a copy to any members here with children or grandchildren.

A poem from member Kassie:
I'd say this is related to fakery promoting bad science. Hence it may belong here in our Art Corner. I am amused by your concept of planets going around the sun in a narrative within a narrative within a narrative such that the exploration of the context of that thought has more to do with the feeling behind it rather than any factuality. Yet the feeling honors true factuality by remaining ambiguous and non-committed to an idea. To me, anyway. I don't have to try hard to read it this way but that might be my bias. Anyway, great structure and technique!Kassie wrote:Dark Energy
pained him. He knew æther when he saw it,
watched theory take a cure-all
to smooth out the night, patching
up physics by tradition and verse, familiar
hearthside legends, while he ran
with the toothed unknown,
the untamed science replete
with attributes more rich unnamed,
more honest, in a time when honest work was rare.
But æther came at dusk, swinging
its toolbox, whistling worksong.
Old jack-of-all-trades:
rough-handed, stead-sure, employed
to do what a certified labourer couldn't –
to push planets around the sun, carry
light across the cosmos, or make
the Universe expand;
in other words, he'd concede,
a man in need of home, love, supper,
and life apart from anonymity.

Hi everyone,
Today was the 57th anniversary of the granddaddy of fake space travels, namely the Gagarin Hoax. I wanted to share with you a short film I made about early space hoaxes to commemorate the occasion:

Exellent video tanertan. Goosebumps at the end. Twisted Sister was a favorite when I was a teen rebel. And now I'm an adult rebel :-)

Great puppet show compilation, Tanertan - truly spaced out !
I then found on your YT channel a music video you mirrored of this "Puppet Song" by a clearly talented singer / songwriter.
What a tragic, crying shame that he goes by the name of "Flat Earth Man"...

Thanks Simon
I agree that "Flat Earth Man" isn't the best choice for a name, but he is definitely a very talented singer/songwriter.
