Re: SANDY HOOK Newtown,Ct School Shooting 14 dec 2012

In the 'PHOTOS' section of the vomit-inducing WWDD website, 3rd row down, 2nd from right ( http://www.whatwoulddanieldo.com/gallery/ ) , you will see this thumnail: http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj606/arc300/65539_209466029177970_2132214949_n-175x175_zps0481f09a.jpg The girl on the far left ha...

Re: Why Rocketry Doesn't Work in the Vacuum

@Sceppy, In your model it would seem that it is the nozzle itself and not the top/inner wall of the combustion chamber that bears the brunt of the thrust produced by the ambient atmosphere rushing back in to fill the void? That is, the rocket is being pushed by the nozzle? And if so, is it plausible...

Re: Who really owns the major companies in the world?

This is an important question. Who owns Planet Earth? I think, in this context, and in all seriousness, the correct question is "Who PWNs Planet Earth?" "Pwn is a leetspeak slang term derived from the verb own,[1][2][3] as meaning to appropriate or to conquer to gain ownership. The term implies dom...

Re: Why Rocketry Doesn't Work in the Vacuum

Yes, say that 1 kg of compressed air (no combustion) is leaving the ship into vacuum through a nozzle at 100 m/s velocity, this alone produces a force of 100 N that propulse the ship forward in the vacuum. So when the *ahem* Lunar Module was depressurized for extra-vehicular activities it trembled ...

Re: Why Rocketry Doesn't Work in the Vacuum

The space immediately following the rocket is also not a vacuum as it is filled with the rocket's exhaust. Yet, if we take the accepted view that space, and therefore the vacuum of space, is infinite, then we must also accept that space has an infinite capacity to 'receive' ejected gas and can neve...

Re: Why Rocketry Doesn't Work in the Vacuum

Please correct me if I'm wrong or if it has already been mentioned, but could Boethius's argument be paraphrased/re-phrased thusly: Rockets move because of a lack of internal equilibrium Breaching one end of the rocket in a vacuum will cause immediate return to equilibrium, resulting in a lack of m...

“The highly diluted gas in this layer can reach 2,500 °C (4,530 °F) during the day. Even though the temperature is so high, one would not feel warm in the thermosphere, because it is so near vacuum that there is not enough contact with the few atoms of gas to transfer much heat.” http://en.wikipedi...

What is this nonsense? The vehicle to the right of the red car is about 10 times the size of the red one? The front left wheel and tire are taller than the entire red car itself? :o http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2013/05/23/us/23tornado/23tornado-articleLarge.jpg So unreal. It looks like a sta...

I'm asking more for weigh-ins on any insight or educated guesses what you all think the hoped result of this hoax is, what you think the intended agenda is, if you think there is an intended reaction to this story. : On the radio news this morning I heard somebody making a big deal about how it too...

Re: THE "CHATBOX"

IMHO Jolie's titts got saggy hence a boob job was needed . It was also a perfect PR opportunity to strenghten her image of a dogooder , saint almost . Instead of another aging Hollywood star faking titts she became a martyr :) You're right. And add to that the very big $$$ she can make endorsing "p...
