I really enjoy with the music in september clues videos. What I like more is the music in the minute 1:19:12 in the video 911Septemberclues.avi (I think it is the first version), when speaking about the airplane angles, 13° against 18° (part 8, “synchronicity”). And then in 1:20:06 when “the ball” appears in NBC channel.

My Review of the September Clue's Soundtrack by The Social Service

Well, I really didn't have any extra cash but I'll see where it comes from later, I promised myself I would get this on christmas.
I never buy music unless it's unavailable any other way and/or sounds amazing. This one fell on both.

First time I heard it was a bit weird as I was very familiar with the preview bits I'd already fallen in love with and the slices from the film, it was hard to tell. The second time the sounds started to come alive and was more able to really listen to it. Cool slightly overdriven and fx'd guitars (that remind me a bit of The Police), awesome, amazing and elaborate beats, deeply beautiful melancholic piano ballads, horns, sitars, samples from the documentary, and an intermitent gravely, low pitch, almost background, poetic voice make it a refreshing mix that's hard to avoid sticking to. It's a bit of a mix of rock-reggae, jazz and a bit of whats know as world music, but mostly a hard to label playful, novel and ethereal sound that combines exeptionaly well. Crisp musicianship from every instrument and sound. A well put together band with great songwritting. It's a long soundscape that's definitely themed and congruent, where the variety of sounds form a long and well-knitted score. It's definitely nice to listen to it all and go to the beautiful places it takes you.

I'm really, really picky with my music, I'm a musician myself and I honestly doubt I could go to a record store and find something thats as good as this. I only listen to 1 or 2 bands or artists per year that I can say I like and The Social Service is definitely one of them for 2011, beautiful music... All in all, a true masterpiece soundtrack in and of itself from the legendary documentary that's a must for anyone with a brain!

...That's all Folks!

(if someone pointed a gun at me and forced my to think of anything I'd like to see changed I would love it if there was a mix without the samples from the documentary, they get a bit in the way of the music or maybe I just don't want to hear it but it's completly understandable being it a soundtrack of course. That, and it would be nice if the mp3's would be labeled more completly for those who listen to music on ipods, and a bit of background info of the band and album would be lovely)

THE SOCIAL SERVICE - stage videos

For this forum's esteemed members, I've made this post with some YT links to my band's tunes. Hope you enjoy!
For some info about my band, "The Social Service" : http://www.septemberclues.org/lyrics.htm
The band is currently idle - but I hope to get our act together in the not too distant future. I wrote most of the below songs before embarking in my September Clues "odyssey" - something I'll never regret - but I do sorely miss performing these songs on stage, sigh!... However, my recording studio (where all these songs were recorded) is once again up and jamming - and new tunes are slowly taking shape, so stay tuned, folks! :)

WASTE OF TIME
Took a walk around the town to see what's on
There doesn't seem to be much fun
A thousand people drooling over things they'll never buy
What a waste of time - Terrible waste of time
Oooh how they're - spinning round
They don't seem to be for real
I took a walk downtown to see what's going on
It doesn't seem to be much fun
A thousand people drooling over things they'll never buy

NO FOOL
I may be crazy but I’m not a fool
I’m far too lazy but I’m oh so cool
Oh so cool
I may be crazy but I’m not a fool
I’m far too lazy but I’m oh so cool
You may say I’m crazy
And you may say I’m far too lazy
But if you say I’m a fool
You’re just not right
You’re so wrong – not right
You’re so wrong – not right
You may say I’m crazy
And you may say I’m far too lazy
But if you say I’m a fool
You’re just not right
You’re just not right
You’re just - not right
You’re so wrong – not right
I may be crazy but I’m not a fool
I’m far too lazy but I’m oh so cool
You’re so wrong
You’re so...

"F11" - (the September Clues Hip Hop song)

I just love this nicely (w)rapped up Sept Clues tribute tune by ACTIVIST - and just realized I've forgotten to embed it here on the forum, my bad !

Well, here you go, folks ! Sing along to ACTIVIST's great lyrics ! :)

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwA7RLSBAgo

LYRICS:

"Yeah So on 9/11...theres a whole bunch of different ideas on what happened...
who was responsible...there's all this stuff that people get mixed up in, and all the talk
and some are wrong, and what's right and, and I just don't know, but, this just one of them
So...fuck it"

I say Fuck 9/11 like the F11 key
Their hephalump answers are imaginary
They say: "Plane, plane, plane"!!!
As if it's arranged at point blank range
I think it's painful and plainly obvious
That passenger planes didn't cause this
Cause it defies all the laws of,
Gravity and sim-metry,
Am I to believe this sketchy imagery
That was brought in for all to see
From unknown agencies
Isn't completely full of fallacy?
Cause you must be fair and balancing
Being aware of everything, on the in and on the out
Why's the nose the same size when it came out?
Why don't the path's angles follow the same route?
Why does only some audio play shouts?
Why were five lies called 'live' shots?

The 9/11 impact videos are edits
The object hitting was embedded
The word plane was invented
In a script that was intended
For visions to be apprehended
We're gonna scream till we end it

It's always barge in and blowup
With no evidence to show us, what we know is
Aviation crashin's a big aluminum car smashin'
So why's it slashin' through steel and dissapearing in-sealed
Because it'd be too hard to fake the whole thing and keep it real
So they reel it live, Then take a second to edit in the lie,
Then later televise scripts and clips that terrorize,
It's the ultimate brainwashing kind,
When you flood the mind
With repeated lies from your spit
Base actions on this and they're legit
We gotta correct this police state we live
If we don't hurry up they may win
There's no tellin', to which path they may step
But i know i'll put my foot down to trip
Cause the life i live is sacred
So i'll die before i take it's taken

The 9/11 impact videos are edits
The object hitting was embedded
The word plane was invented
In a script that was intended
For visions to be apprehended
We're gonna scream till we end it

In this virtual day, you can edit it any way
Tell which clips to play, and which scripts to say
Can't tell the difference between phony graphics
And real photographs it's a form of magic
Want you to imagine, what they said happened
But you saw the wires and you grabbed them
First reaction, normally's one of satisfaction
Never sat, always act,
Hear the words 'air attack',
Think plane in fact,
See past the plain and blatant facts
Play the footage back,
Why does it cut to black
Why's the plane intact
Why aren't the exits all exact
Why do the clips look like crap
How'd they know to film the impact
When we hadn't been 'attacked'??!!??

New SOCIAL SERVICE album OUT NOW ! :)

I'm glad to announce the release of my band's new album, "Realitivity". It has been more than a year in the making, as the band is currently a bit 'disbanded' (these are tough times for musicians in Italy - for a number of reasons) - yet we've still been able to meet often enough to put together this latest 'labour of love' of ours. We really do hope you will enjoy it (you can listen to it for free at the below Bandcamp link) diffuse it to your friends & family and, hey, even support our efforts by purchasing it !

Image

Bandcamp link: https://thesocialservice1.bandcamp.com/ ... ealitivity

Please note on the Bandcamp page that, to the right of each song, you'll find the lyrics of the same by clicking on the "lyrics" button.

Die-hard Social Service fans ^_^ may also appreciate that I've uploaded on Bandcamp another (earlier, yet never-released) album of ours, titled "Shake Yer Brain". This is a collection of 12 "raw" songs (i.e. totally improvised and recorded on the fly over the years) that may not have that 'super-slick-&-polished' sound that big ass productions have - but we hope that the 'spontaneous feel' of this "raw & kind-of-unplugged" album makes up a bit for that fact. As some of you may notice / recognize, I used - back in the days - a few (mostly instrumental) bits and pieces of that album in my September Clues soundtrack.

To me, music-making remains a wonderful 'escape-road' from this crazy world we live in, and this, in spite of all what I've learned over the years regarding the sadly corrupt / co-opted music industry (what with several of my former 'youth music icons' - the likes of Frank Zappa or Peter Gabriel to name but two) turning out to be fishy / dubious characters...

To be sure, I have long given up my youthful / wishful idea of making a living out of my music-making - but I can only wish and hope that some folks will enjoy what I now consider as a 'soothing hobby' of mine - and of our band (all members of which are non-professional / part-time musicians). Here follows a list of the various Social Service band members which have contributed to the above two albums (the latest of which also including a few drum & bass samples from creative commons material):

Fabio (aka "Zyo"): solo / lead guitar
Andrea: rhythm / 'special fx' guitars
Igor: solo / lead guitar
Riccardo: solo / lead guitar
Stefano (aka "Zac"): bass guitar
Giannelli: bass guitar
Massimiliano: bass guitar
Alf: bass guitar
Gilberto (aka "Gilbeat"): drums and percs
Maurizio (aka 'Morritz'): backing vocals
Simon Shack: vox / lyrics / keys / percs / studio engineer

Heartfelt thanks to all past-and-present supporters of "The Social Service" ! :)

Album cover by Hoi Polloi (a murales he painted on a retaining wall of the rugby stadium adjacent to the "Base Music Factory' back in 2009).
Oh ! Sorry, I just saw the explanation mentioned on the bandcamp's page.
That's an impeccable version of pinocchio if you ask me
