Good research on the Amazon 'non-book.'
However, what do you make of the following video on YouTube (the only actual video footage I can find of this supposed Marie Colvin character):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MDWfyka ... re=related
Did they use an actress, and then simulate the younger version of Colvin for other press images?
Notice also that they refer extensively to other psyops here, like the Wikileaks deception.
I see that Anderson Cooper (Vanderbilt family) has put a lot of effort into substantiating Colvin's status as a bona fide, real flesh and blood professional correspondent he has worked with in the past.
But there is a long list of London-based journalists who also claimed to know Colvin:
Piers Morgan
John Witherow, editor of The Sunday Times
Andrew Neil, presenter and former Sunday Times editor
Richard Beeston, foreign editor, The Times
Con Coughlin, executive foreign editor, The Telegraph
Peter Beaumont, foreign editor, The Guardian
Paul Danahar, BBC Middle East bureau chief
Lyse Doucet, BBC journalist and presenter
Chris Ryder, former Sunday Times journalist
Roy Greenslade, journalist, The Guardian
Jim Muir, BBC correspondent in Beirut
Patrick Cockburn, journalist for The Independent
Jon Snow
I suppose they could always claim at a later date that they were 'tricked,' if they choose their words carefully when telling anecdotes of Colvin.

Just sayin' . . . the sellers link works for me, maybe it's a temporary glitch? First magazine, 2 copies available, shipping from NY and NJ; second magazine ships from NJ.The one about Arafat appears to have been the cover article of the NYT magazine in December 1988.
Amazon.com pretends to sell one old copy of that magazine, here: http://www.amazon.com/Times-Magazine-AR ... B005SDA8G0 and also here: http://www.amazon.com/Magazine-December ... B001FSHRFM. Unfortunately, in both cases clicking on the "sellers" link does nothing for me.

I will re-check... but I guess we can safely assume that that magazine issue and that article do exist, considering that a simple trip to an american public library would probably satisfy anyone's curiosity. Yet the lack of material on amazon remains puzzling. A journalist with a career like hers should have been tempted to publish books several times.HonestlyNow wrote:Just sayin' . . . the sellers link works for me, maybe it's a temporary glitch? Also to respond to Euphoria, any video can be faked, but my mind is certainly not made: I don't know if they used an actress over a pen-name... if Colvin was real and has been killed, or if she was real and faked her own death.
As a gut feeling, she smells of vicsim. Of fake individual. Not just for the eye patch but for the lack of substance that seem to come from her and her stories-- but personally I am more than willing to change my mind if a different, more convincing hypothesis is formulated.
And about the eye patch: wicky tells us she lost her eye in April 2001. But there are pictures of her in the eye patch where she looks a lot younger. Are we to conclude that she aged a lot in 10 years?
From http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/pub ... 876241.ece. How fake is this picture? Also check this: http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?i ... c77a.43114

Very well spotted, nonhocapito.
From what I can see, they have used an actress for the older Colvin, who appears in just a few recent videos to substantiate her existence.
The younger images are faked, as we can see from the mistake made by the perps - unrealistically rapid ageing over 10 years!

Dear TrutherInTX
You say:
Half of the info released by Anonymous is outright disinfo, the rest is carefully selected and approved info.
(I don't know if they really recruit people on the net or if that's a facade, but if yes then it is controlled opposition as Comrade Lenin would say.)
Same story as WikiLeaks.
I would bet on Mossad Lohamah Psichlogit/C.I.A. co-operation.
In other words, Anonymous is total BS.
You say:
Forget Anonymous. It is a typical psywarfare/disinformation Internet and Media-project.I've subscribed to the Anonymous channel for a while now. Until today they seemed to be interested in exposing the fraud we all know is going on. Today they posted a new video about Syria, http://youtu.be/cbCVH3hEraA.

Can anyone ID the city/rotunda building/bridge/river perspective in the background? I've spent an hour or so considering Paris, DC, St Petersburg, and I'm stumped.nonhocapito wrote:

Re: Egypt 'Revolution'- all the way to Libya 'War'
Ha! Wow... Thanks for making me notice! The city is London (that's St. Paul's cathedral in the back).
From http://www.photograph-london.com/london ... 500935.php
But what's more interesting, the bridge in the picture is the Blackfriars bridge, the infamous one under which Roberto Calvi, banker of the Vatican, was found hanged with two bricks in his pockets -- and the same bridge that is featured in a famous hanging scene in Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" (where Ledger also had bricks in his pockets, if I remember correctly).
Even seeing that the background and "Marie Colvin" are obviously two different layers composed in photoshop, I'm assuming the choice of the bridge is not incidental.
The photo, btw, appears as if taken from the terrace of a building located along the river, as the POV is too high for the simple riverside walk.
Since we see the terminal part of the bridge on the other side of the river rather frontally, I have to assume the use of telephoto lens (or its photoshop equivalent, "resize") at an imaginary location not too close to the bridge -- so I have to discard my first choice, the Sea Containers House, a building that hosts, among other things, The Mental Health Foundation.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Mental+He ... 16&iwloc=A
Rather, and more appropriately, I'd place the imaginary location of this shot a bit further down the river, having to pick, perhaps, between the London Television Centre, or the IBM UK offices...
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=*&hl=en&v ... 16&iwloc=A
(...one last thing: the bridge appears as being repainted in the picture: this could help us pinpoint a date for the background. Since "Marie Colvin" appears quite younger, but with her eyepatch, the forgers are implicitly assuming a date not too far from 2001 when she had her accident. Maybe someone can discover if there have been renovations or repaintings of the bridge that looked like this in the years since April 2001?
The picture at this page: http://www.constructionphotography.com/ ... 3&TypeID=1 seem to refer to precisely the same renovation, but unfortunately has no explicit date, although the metadata reports a "copyright 2006" -- which would make Colvin in the picture just 6 or 5 years younger than the last known pictures of her, an obvious absurdity!)

Re: Egypt 'Revolution'- all the way to Libya 'War'
i watched the tributes on news channels the day Marie Colvin died, there was video clips meeting Gaddafi with BBCs Jeremy Bowen, this channel 4 piece has video of her before she lost her eye, and photos of when she lost it. based in London, Marie Colvin's was a vaguely familier voice over the years. but now she doesnt exist. before; she did... i guess.

Wait.
Am I missing something here? I haven't spent much time on this Marie Colvin. But is THIS image actually supposed to depict her in April 2001 when she lost her left eye in Sri Lanka?
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... storm.html
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news ... vin-737472
So this image must be POST-2001, obviously?
And this is supposed to be Marie Colvin in June 2011 - squatting with Libyan rebels?
And THIS is Marie Colvin with Camilla ... WHEN, exactly?
(image found with Google Image search using keywords "Marie Colvin")
mumble...mumble... I guess time/age affect people's looks differently?

Re: Egypt 'Revolution'- all the way to Libya 'War'
yeah, I was pointing out the same thing a few posts ago, Simon. There are a couple of pictures of a "younger" 40ish years old Colvin that make no sense.
Another young Colvin with the eyepatch. From http://discourseincsharpminor.wordpress ... ie-colvin/
They obviously messed up something. If Colvin was a real person who faked her own death, or a real person who, like Calvi, has allegedly been murdered for having betrayed or crossed the wrong people, why the need to fake pictures, creating these errors? Complete fakery seems the only explanation left. Unless they are deliberately messing with us. (Or unless family and newspapers have decided to add eyepatches to younger pictures of Colvin as an homage to her adventurous persona. This would quite idiotic, but you never know. )
The Calvi-Colvin assonance is indeed hilarious and worrying. We could create another connect to the religious catholic angle also by this anagram of "Marie Colvin": "Miracle Vino"
Meanwhile, I found a variant of the blackfriars picture, this time passed through an analog plugin that artificially ages the picture and makes it look worn and "real".
From http://www.deccanchronicle.com/channels ... -syria-799
The picture is so captioned: "A 2001 photo provided by Rosemary Colvin journalist shows Marie Colvin in London. Colvin was killed on Wednesday in the Syrian city of Homs while working as a war correspondent for the Sunday Times - AP"
This is so pathetic... If this is the picture that the family has decided to share with newspapers, how come there is another snapshot, from the same set, of much better quality? Who shared that one? And why would they share this picture all desaturated and scratched? And what's happening with the shadow on her arm and hand? And are we sure the bridge was being repainted in 2001? etc etc.
Good thing they said 2001, though (also here:http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial-pa ... 739072.ece), considering that the St Mary Axe tower is missing from the skyline there in the back. Sure it is strange. Not even a crane announces to the world that the tower was being built just then (the month being clearly long after her accident in april: maybe september 2001? lol...)

Another sharpened version of marie "desaturated" colvin:
From http://www.smh.com.au/national/obituari ... 1tp5b.html
Another variant, with a frame, and exactly the same scratches and desaturation. Of course the frame is not of the right size, just like with every other vicsim.
From http://thecareersuccessdoctor.com/2012/ ... /#more-305
Funny. Did this picture worn out staying inside the frame? Or Rosemary Colvin hurriedly put it in a badly-sized frame, after having allowed the journalists to photograph it or scan it? Or are there multiple copies of this analog image, all equally worn out?
