Timothy Murphy said
''So, in terms of "broad themes to exploit" we're seeing Bond among them... ''

Bond stuff has been all over the media today. An interview with one of the main actors from the bond films on BBC news and an interview with Roger Moore on RT.

What a surprise. They should have also told their readers that all the images were faked.

Remember that ash cloud? It didn't exist, says new evidence.

Britain's airspace was closed under false pretences, with satellite images revealing there was no doomsday volcanic ash cloud over the entire country.

Skies fell quiet for six days, leaving as many as 500,000 Britons stranded overseas and costing airlines hundreds of millions of pounds.

I enjoyed the ad for BAE Systems within that article. Hilarious pathos!

These models should have been tested by the Met Office's main research plane, a BAE 146 jet, but it was in a hangar to be repainted and could not be sent up until last Tuesday - the last day of the ban. Priceless. The 'Reality Shack Told You So' T shirt must be near launch.

Not suggesting that this is a reason for the all-out flight ban, but...

Iinternational Air Transport Association pressroom, 23rd April.

Full Support to Accelerate Single European Sky

Geneva - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced its full support for Spain’s transport minister Jose Blanco and Vice President of the European Commission Siim Kallas in their call to fast track implementation of the Single European Sky. The issue is set to be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of Europe’s Transport Council on 4 May 2010.

IATA’s Director General and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani... “I applaud the leadership of Minister Blanco and Vice President Kallas to urgently fast track implementation of the Single European Sky. The volcanic ash crisis that paralyzed European air transport for nearly a week made it crystal clear that the Single European Sky is a critical missing link in Europe’s infrastructure.

Sigh... You just put your finger on a serious dilemma, Idschmyd...

We'd all like to diffuse our findings and grow in numbers. However, the moment we start making promo-material and such will be the moment we'll be seen as some kind of 'sale-oriented product'...

Does any genius out there have an idea of how to transcend this dilemma?

How about an 'anti-paparazzi' line of clothing from the 'Die-in-a-lie' fashion house to get the word out..B)

Surely not everyone in the public glare likes getting their image emblazoned over acres of badly mistreated 'news' paper??

Here is how it works.

The jaded celebrity walks towards the ready to pounce photographer. He snaps, but how can his editor print this when celeb X is wearing a T-shirt with a large picture of a 911 victim, and from it's mouth appears a speech bubble with the words

'I am not dead, Yippee'.

Papa rats pauses and goes for the less income generating back and shoulder shot and is greeted by the same picture, but this time, the speech bubble is not coming from 911 victim but from the mouth of someone unseen, to the side, and with the words

' You were never alive in the first place'.

The Vaseline-ing out of the faces by editors has opposite effect than intended.

After seeing robots that can serve beer and coffee, this is a fresh twist on the use of this mechanism, which aims to improve social behaviours in difficult situations. Due to the reliance of human relationships on facial expressions, the mimicking robot can be useful in healthcare settings, such as nursing homes and with children.

The volcano thing is not over.

Towmorrow all flights in and out of Ireland are cancelled between 7 am and 1pm.

Perhaps an Irish reader can discern what this might be about.

If it had affected the rest of the UK I would connect it to our election scheduled for May 6. But the UK is strangely immune to the ash this time around...

Bailout - well not a good idea if you are on an airplane.

"EU transport ministers meet tomorrow to discuss awarding state aid to an industry that lost an estimated ?1.1bn"

edit/

I returned to the guardian link about an hour later and the story has been edited, it now reads -

"EU transport ministers meet today to discuss awarding state aid to an industry that suffered heavy losses from the unprecedented shutdown of airspace, with an overhaul of regulations also on the agenda."
