I hear the roar of a big machine
Two worlds and in between
Hot metal and methedrine
I hear empire down...
I hear empire down...

I hear the roar of a big machine
Two worlds and in between
Love lost, fire at will
Dum-dum bullets and shoot to kill, I hear
Dive, bombers, and
Empire down...
Empire down...

I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed
Get down, get undressed
Get pretty but you and me
We got the kingdom, we got the key
We got the empire, now as then
We don't doubt, we don't take direction
Lucretia, my reflection, dance the ghost with me...

We look hard
We look through
We look hard to see for real
Such things I hear, they don't make sense
I don't see much evidence
I don't feel
I don't feel
I don't feel

A long train held up by page on page
A hard reign held up by rage

Once a railroad
Now it's done...

I hear the roar of the big machine
Two worlds and in between
Hot metal and methedrine
I hear empire down...

We got the empire, now as then
We don't doubt, we don't take reflection
Lucretia, my direction, dance the ghost with me...

Lucretia is one of my all-time faves. And what a great album Floodland is.

On a scale of 1-10, the song is about a 19.

Dear members & readers,

In this new year of 2019 which has started quite beautifully (here in central Italy at least - where I sunbathed today in my garden!), I would like to dedicate this song to all of you valiant and righteous truthseekers - because I truly love and respect you all for helping out exposing and weed out the many deceptions infesting this otherwise magnificent planet of ours. Let this year be the one that finally knocks down the door of lies that stands between us and the sunny skies of verity. -_-

THE DOOR: https://thesocialservice1.bandcamp.com/track/the-door

THE DOOR
As the mood goes up
The anguish comes down
You're feeling like a butterfly
Soaring away
You're not the only one
Knocking on the door of lies
The lies that define our lives
You're not the only one
You're not the only one
Who's knocking on the door
You're not the only one
Keep knocking on the door - keep knocking on the door
And one fine day we will knock it down
Knocking on the door of lies
You're not the only one
Who's knocking on the door
You're not the only one
Knocking on the door of lies

I'm not sure if any doors were knocked down, Simon, but we certainly did pick a few locks.

Dear ICfreely,

I hear you - and yes, we may have only have picked a few locks, yet on my side I've truly tried my darndest to knock down the Heaven's gates! :P

It's taking time to make things right in this world but hey, it is all to be expected - given the gargantuan mess that we are in!

As we were jamming with my band these last weeks, I envisioned a man desperately frustrated at the slow rate of change (for the better) of this mad world.

Here's a pre-mix of this new track of ours: http://septclues.com/AUDIO%20FILES/TOO% ... mix_03.mp3

TOO MUCH TIME
It's taking ages to make it right
Too much time - Too much time...

Happy 2020 everyone, should be a scorcher! And let us all keep knocking on those damn doors . :)

Sam Van Pykeren: Smart, Fearless Journalism

The Last and Best List for Music In 2019: EP’s
Extended plays were the way that musicians thrived this year.
Sam Van Pykeren, January 3, 2020

The end of the year (and decade) brought lists (and lists) of albums you probably already knew. Full length works from Charli XCX, Lizzo, and Harry Styles featured prominently. You listened! It was fun. But it can still feel a bit like crowning already minted superstars.

Instead, this year’s EP’s offer a reminiscence that points forward. As the decade has progressed, many artists both large and small have opted for the EP. “[L]ess expensive and time-consuming in production than albums,” Michael Fuhr notes the EP “help[s] to popularize new groups” in his look at K-Pop’s global impact. They’re a collection for artists with millions of streamers or hundreds, leveling the playing field and hinting at a new future of musical releases.

1. Sanctuary — Aly & AJ

It’s no secret that Aly & AJ have made a splash this year. After reinventing their sound and look in 2017 with the Ten Years EP, they continued last year with Sanctuary. “[A sanctuary] really can be anything,” AJ told Mother Jones. “I hope people feel that when they listen to this record.” With five tracks the sisters delivered some of the most well-done synth-pop of the year. “Church” is reckoning with one’s own mistakes while “Don’t Go Changing” is an agonizing letter about changing loved ones. Sanctuary is Aly & AJ offering up their hearts on a silver platter; it’s a vulnerable and danceable collection of music, two components of timeless pop music.

Blind man ask me forgiveness
I won't deny myself
Disrespect you have given
Your suffering's my wealth
I feed off pain, force fed to love it
And now I swallow whole
I'll never live in the past
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast

Burn my fist to the concrete
My fear is my strength
Power, rage unbound because
Been pounded by the streets
Cyanide blood burns down the skyline
Hatred is purity
The bullet connects at last
Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast

Scarred
Scarred
Scarred
Scarred

Scarred (pour the salt in the wound)
Scarred (pour the salt in the wound)
Scarred (pour the salt in the wound)
Unscarred

The Second Coming
By William Butler Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Ice Cube - Ghetto Bird (Music Video)

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhsfn9IyiLQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhsfn9IyiLQ
[Verse 1]
Why, oh why must you swoop through the hood like everybody from the hood? Is up to no good
You think all the girls around here are trickin'
Up there lookin' like Superchicken
At night I see your light through my bedroom window
But I ain't got shit but the pad and pencil
I can't wait till I hear you say
"I'm going down, mayday, mayday." I'm gonna clown
Cause everytime that the pigs have got me
Y'all rub it in with the flying Nazi
Military force, but we don't want ya
Standin' on my roof with the rocket launcher
"So fly like an eagle."
But don't follow us wherever we go
The shit that I'm saying, make sure it's heard
Motherfuck you and your punk-ass ghetto bird

[Hook]
"Run, run, run, from the ghetto bird"
"Run, run, run, from the ghetto bird"

[Verse 2]
Now, my homey's here to lick on a trick for a Rolex
And let me try the fo' next
Now the fo' I was driving was hotter than july
Looked up and didn't see a ribbon in the sky
Saw a chopper with numbers on the bottom
"Calling all cars, I think we've got em."
I hit the gas and I mashed past Inglewood
I think I drove through every single hood
South Central, Compton and Watts
Long Beach, bust a U, here come the cops
Wish I had a genie with about three wishes
Metal flake green on D's I look suspicious
You know that I'm running
Shit, I hear it humming
Fuck, I see it coming
Is it a bird? Yup
Is it a plane? No
I hit me a right on El Segundo
Wanted to holla, had to ditch the Impala
Let's see if they would folla
Me, hit a fence, hit a fence, and another
Met me a baby pitbull and his mother
Ran up in some peoples house and looked out of the window
I wish it was my kinfolk
Had to pull a strap on a fool named Louis the Third
'Cause I'm getting chased by the ghetto bird

[Bridge]
"Just put his hat, ehrrr, he combed his hair and then put his hat back
On. Errr, he's acting nonchalant up there in that cockpit, going 115
Miles an hour, with the police chasing him. Ehm, they're not gonna be
Real happy when they catch up with him, no matter what, the eh
Ehrr, they hate, they hate a bigmouth even worse."

[Verse 3]
Officer Bird's on his way, and I don't wanna see him
Could you please give me the keys to the B.M.?
See, I didn't want to gank you
But don't make me bank you, thank you
Tried to get to the hood, and you might guess
That a fool like me done shot Cyrus
Incognito, Ghetto Eagle
Saying, "Fuck, where did he go?"
I bust me a left on Ruthelen. Park
The 735 and I'm bailin
Went to my homegirl's house and got a hug man
She helped me run like Harriet Tubman
Looked out the window by the black bed
I saw the pigs and the fo' on a flatbed
Then the light from the bird hit me in the face
I closed the blinds cause I didn't wanna catch a case
All that night, I heard the bird circle
While I was eating fish and watching Urkel
She said I could sleep on the couch
By two A.M. I was digging her out
Fuck the ghetto bird

[Pre-Outro]
"Which way is he going now?"
"Ok, now..now he's..he's actually southbound..on a service street
And, uh...Gee whiz, uh, I'm gonna get my maps out here and figure
Out which service street he suddelny turned off on. Uh, the sherriffs
Are..are...well I know that...Sherriffs ground units got thrown off"

[Outro]
Motherfuck you and your punk-ass ghetto bird

2Pac - Ain't Hard 2 Find Feat. B-Legit, Richie Rich, D-Shot, C-Bo & E-40

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP9eTy2MVKg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP9eTy2MVKg
[Intro/Chorus: C-Bo, D-Shot, Richie Rich, 2Pac & E-40]
They say
Influenced by crime, addicted to grindin'
Preoccupied with my chips
And niggas call me a timer
I been ballin' since my adolescent years steady climbin'
Man, you motherfuckers don't know nuttin' about no timin'
That's right, that's right boy, start that shit off

[Verse 1: 2Pac]
I heard a rumor I died, murdered in cold blood dramatized
Pictures of me in my final stage, you know mama cried
But that was fiction, some coward got the story twisted
Like I no longer existed, mysteriously missin'
Although I'm worldwide, baby I ain't hard to find
Where I spend most of my time, my California grind
Watchin' for thievin', I'm cautious, it's like I'm barely breathin'
Puttin' a bullet in motherfuckers, give me da reason
See me and hope I'm intoxicated or slightly faded
You tried to play me, now homicide's my only payment
I'm addicted to currency in this life I lead
Why the fuck you cowards be runnin', too scared to fight a G?
For the life of me, I cannot see
How motherfuckers picture livin' life after a night of fuckin' around with me
And if you don't like this rhyme
Then bring your big bad ass to California, 'cause we ain't hard to find

[Chorus: C-Bo, D-Shot, Richie Rich, 2Pac & E-40]
Influenced by crime, addicted to grindin'
Preoccupied with my chips
And niggas call me a timer
I been ballin' since my adolescent years steady climbin'
Motherfuckers don't know nuttin' about no timin'

[Verse 2: C-Bo]
I got my locs on, hard hat, goin' to war
Breakin' them off on sight, stoppin' lives like red lights
Watch 'em pause as I pull my strap out my draws
And get to dumpin' on they ass like the last outlaw
Rich, 2Pac and The Click, smokin' blunts, loadin' clips
With enough shit to raise your block in one dip
We bring on horror like Tales From the Crypt
And we ain't hard to find is the tales that we kick

[Verse 3: B-Legit]
I'm fully automatic, full of static and shit
Movin' Dodge van, fifty rounds in the clip
I'm ridin' shotgun with the tint in the back
I'm plan to have a motherfuckin' mint in this rap
I'm from the V-A-L-L-E-J-O
Where sellin' narcotics is all I know
I got blow, speed, and weed, whatever yo' kind
And if you need a motherfucker, I ain't hard to find

[Verse 4: D-Shot]
Some may call me bootsy, but I call it timin'
That's while I keeps on grindin' (that's right)
To the point where a nigga can't stop
Too much feelin' this shit, that's why I'm quick to peel a bitch
Whether it's a nigga or a ho, a ho
Get in my way, then that ass gots to go
'Cause a nigga steady plottin'
I serves hit for hit, and motherfuckers keep droppin'

[Chorus: C-Bo, D-Shot, Richie Rich, 2Pac & E-40]
Influenced by crime, addicted to grindin'
Preoccupied with my chips
And niggas call me a timer
I been ballin' since my adolescent years steady climbin'
Man, you motherfuckers don't know nuttin' about no timin'

[2Pac & E-40]
C-Bo, D-Shot, E-40, Richie Rich
Da Bay, beitch!

[Verse 5: E-40]
Down the steps
Abandoned broken down apartment complex
Heavy metal weapons they carry, can't be scary
Playboy, what the fuck is a proof without the trauma plate?
Nigga, what the fuck you got a gun for if you gon' hesitate?
Best shake and bake all them I-was-finst-to-ass niggas
Motherfuckers-didn't-think-I was-gon'-do-somethin'-ass niggas
Threaten your life, ain't like you love him
Bury your thoughts, take his head fuck him, have at him

[Verse 6: Richie Rich]
(Check this out)
I grew up with that nigga
Threw up with that nigga
I hear he tryin' to ride
Double agent for the other side
But now, my Glock be so judgmental
Back seat of a rental
Keep my name out your dental, nigga
If your gum bleedin' and you needin'
More than twenty stitches, you behave like them bitches
Sideways to the next
Heavy in the game
Check the resident, it's all the same
Nigga, and we ain't hard to find

[Outro/Ad-libs: 2Pac, C-BO & E-40]
[2Pac]: Hell nah we ain't hard to find
[C-Bo]: The whole Clickalation fool
[E-40]: Motherfuckers hard to find, right here bitch
[2Pac]: Why them niggas actin' like they can't find us? Like they can't see us and like we don't be at the same spots they be at?
[D-Shot]: It's the same congregation. Young Pac is back
[2Pac]: You know what I mean?
[C-Bo]: Nigga be lookin' all the way when he see you and shit
[D-Shot]: It's a celebration
[E-40]: Motherfuckers better understand this shit
[D-Shot]: Young 'Pac is back
[2Pac]: Ay D-Shot, nigga, can we get paid man?
[D-Shot]: Oh my goodness, we got C-Bo in this muthafucka...
[2Pac]Can we just go there and sock this shit up, please?
[D-Shot]: Hey, we smokin', and we ain't hard to find
[2Pac]: Drinkin' and shit, fuckin' with some Hurricane and some Thug passion
[E-40]: A motherfucker's gonna get his marbles regardless, playboy
[2Pac]: A check this out...You supposed to
[E-40]: Believe in that shit
[RIch]: Sideways to the next light, and to the next coast, poppin' the muthafuckin' most, you understand what I'm sayin'
[2Pac]: Money over bitches, nigga, M.O.B., M.O.B

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOuOwmSsLJE
[Intro: Thutmose]
Yeah
Body, body, body, body
Did Grand Theft Auto really teach you how to shoot down helicopters there?
Yeah, yeah, I do, it's just X, A, right trigger

[Verse 1: Michael Trewartha]
I got a hunger, I got a fever
And it just won't quit
I got a temper, I got a bullet
With your name on it
Everybody wonders what it's like on top
I don't gotta wonder 'cause I call the shots
I got a hunger, I got a fever
I got a fresh hit list

[Pre-Chorus: Michael Trewartha]
My blood runs cold and my feet run faster
I still got heart, I hear a heart don't matter
Say what you want and it'll be your last words
It ain't a secret, I got a hit list
And baby, you're up next

[Chorus: Michael Trewartha]
Stack 'em up, stack 'em up
Teach 'em not to fuck with me
Bag 'em up, bag 'em up
Let 'em know who runs these streets
Take 'em down, take 'em down
Count 'em out like one, two, three
Add a-na-na-na-na-na-na-nother one (Yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah, woo, woo, yeah, yeah, yeah)
To the body count

[Verse 2: Thutmose]
You think you can stop me, yeah
Oh man, that's so funny, yeah
I'll pull out the Uzi, blow your brains out
Then I'm nutting, yeah
This is not a game, ayy, this is not for fame, yeah
Baby, I'm deranged, but fuck it, I can't complain, yeah
Psycho in my vein (Ayy), shootin' with no aim (Ayy)
Cleanin' out my chopper (Ayy), bring it out and it let it bang
I might be insane (Ayy), my thoughts is to blame (Ayy)
I've been hurt many times, now you gotta feel my pain
I've seen bodies on bodies, bodies on bodies
Bodies on bodies, mm-hmm
Go in through the lobby, leave in a Audi
Hands all bloody, mm-hmm
Ridin' with the top off, roof look like it's chopped off
Grand Theft Auto taught me how to shoot down helicopters
Bullet with your name on it, spray it, let it rain on 'em
Told you not to fuck with me
That heartless all the same to me, I got so much rage in me
Told you not to fuck with me (Yeah, yeah)

[Verse 3: Michael Trewartha & Thutmose]
I got a sickness (Got a sickness), you wouldn't want this (Nah)
It's comin' down real bad (Real bad, real bad)
You brought a dull knife (Yeah) into a gun fight (Woo)
You better watch your back (Watch your back, boy)
Don't you ever wonder what it's like on top (Yeah)
I don't gotta wonder 'cause I'm never not (Yuh)
I got a sickness (Got a sickness), I got a hit list (Got a hit list)
And baby, you're up next (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

[Pre-Chorus: Michael Trewartha & Thutmose]
My blood runs cold (Runs cold) and my feet run faster (Runnin', baby)
I still got heart (Uh, yeah), I hear a heart don't matter (Doesn't matter)
Say what you want (What you want) and it'll be your last words (Yeah)
It ain't a secret (Yeah), I got a hit list (What?)
And baby, you're up next (Woo, woo, yeah)

[Chorus: Michael Trewartha & Thutmose]
Stack 'em up (Stack 'em up), stack 'em up (Stack 'em up, yeah)
Teach 'em not to fuck with me (Fuck)
Bag 'em up (Bag 'em up), bag 'em up (Bag 'em up, yeah)
Let 'em know who runs these streets (Yeah)
Take 'em down, take 'em down (Take 'em down, down)
Count 'em out like one, two, three (Yeah)
Add a-na-na-na-na-na-na-nother one (Another one)
To the body count
