Here's an idea:hoi.polloi » 11 Apr 2018, 17:15 wrote: Do you have any ideas about how we might be able to improve the "branding" or appearance of the site so the flavor of investigation we do is more readily understood by average visitors? Or is that perhaps unwise?
People today have little time and they like to read something from top to bottom. Here are a LOT of posts to any given topic and one can see how the results were formed during the discussions. However, most people would rather see merely the results than going through hundreds of posts of discussion. Take for example the Endeavour Space shuttle thread. It is 53 pages long. Compare that with a blog entry that summarizes the findings of that same thread. Of course, there is a lot missing in the blog entry which has been covered in the thread, yet it still manages to convey the crucial point, namely that of a hoax, with the evidence presented in a way to be most compelling for an average reader. And isn't that the main goal here? To convey the results to the public?
If there are any volunteers here who want to help making the information of this forum more accessible to the general public, especially those with editing skills, I would suggest to go through some of those lengthy discussions and select the most compelling evidence and arguments presented in the various posts and make a printable pdf out of it. There is no need to write any own text. Quoting the best parts of any given posts will suffice. In the end CF will have its own ebook, i.e. a forum post collection with an amazing table of contents. An ebook that anybody could read in 7 days instead of spending 7 entire months or more to sift through all threads by themselves. Let's face it, people are lazy and want the information presented to them in the most digestible form. I don't know how the admins see the future of this forum but my guess is that it is going to grow. So, the sooner volunteers would start such a project the sooner newcomers can enjoy an overview of the most important forum topics and the sooner it may be spread among common people who are still ignorant and oblivious to Media's lies. Wouldn't such a ebook make for a nice bus, train and subway reading? it would also spare us from linking to any dubious blogs. Just imagine the very best and exemplary posts all in the hands of common folk. The post themselves are game changers already. People's world view will be challenged to a great extent. Yet the game doesn't change as long as the information is hidden in deep discussions.
Of course, it will have to be stressed that some topics don't have any clear outcome yet but reading about some intermediate results or musings may already intrigue people's interest so that they visit the forum on their own accord to read up on the latest updates or even add new points and findings to the discussion.
How is that for a project? It may take a year or two but the end result will definitely be a huge gold nugget which leads to CF's informational goldmine. Should be worth it, don't you think?
edit: almost forgot: Welcome, Kassie.
