After the killings, the corporation immediately closed the restaurant and demolished the building two months later. It then donated the site to the City of San Diego. The city has not yet officially accepted the site nor decided how to use the land.

Libero - I've had similar thoughts about the land. I think it's very possible.

I think that when they stage an event they look for as many ancillary advantages as possible. The more money and benefits an operation provides the more there is to appease the participants with, maybe even as a bonus for a job well done. 911 led to a lot of people becoming rich providing services per the Patriot Act etc. In this case I have no doubt something is factored in and a land grab is probably part of it.
