We are now being indoctrinated into the belief that living with cancer is a better option than eradicating it completely. Living with disease and liking it - welcome to 21st century medicine. Drug commercials for everything and anything. Remember the day when cigarettes and alcohol commercials were a no-no? And don't forget - you too can cut body parts off if you have a .0000001% chance of possessing "bad" genes.

Ha, ha Cluedin, reading through the article I was beginning to wonder how big pharma will cope with reduced profits following reduced doses of chemotherapy, then I came to the punch line(s)....

Rachel Rawson, senior clinical nurse specialist said the proposed treatment was ‘an exciting avenue to explore.’

"However there remains a long road from this study on mice to any potential changes in clinical practice.''

Professor Daniel Davis said:
“Immunotherapy has great potential to revolutionise cancer treatments. This research area is hot, no doubt about it.”

Dr Kat Arney called the results:
“exciting” but warned: “The treatment comes with a risk of potentially severe side effects, and doesn’t yet work for all patients.
“We still need more trials to know for sure how well they work and whether they can be used in other cancers too. But there’s hope that this type of therapy could save lives.”

Ferric Fang, a professor of microbiology at the University of Washington, was not far off the ball, a few years back, when he compared medical schools today to luxury malls with small boutiques. Each researcher, like each boutique, must attract revenue.

"If they aren't successful, they cast them aside," Fang said. "The faculty feel sort of dispensable, and scholarship is not viewed as an end in itself.

"The quality of work is reduced to how many dollars they bring in. If you talk to scientists, a lot of people feel that way."

Like you say 'welcome to 21st century medicine', which in my eyes is non to different from 18th century dark aged medicine where it took over 200 years and over 2 million deaths to realise that vitamin C prevented scurvy.

And the way things are going it will take a similar amount of time before mainstream medicine / science adapts similar preventive strategies in relation to cancer.

Thank you for your effort, I do appreciate it, along with your very interesting and thought provoking reply.
sharpstuff wrote:The immune system notion relies upon the concept of ‘germs’ and the ‘creation’ of ‘anti-bodies’ and by extension, an ‘immune’ system.

The so-called ‘immune system’ is therefore as false at the ‘germ’ theory from which it derives.
:) And there I was taking it for granted that I have an immune system, then you come along and explode that notion. I sincerely thank you. Another stupid idea that has been sitting in my head has now been relegated to the dustbin. I'm always grateful when someone questions stupid ideas, which only seem obvious once it has been brought to our attention.
sharpstuff wrote:This (unacceptable and faux) ‘immune’ system is the basis for vaccination/inoculation (the creation of the ruse that injecting a supposed (unidentified, unseen and unprovable) germ/virus into a body directly thus producing ‘anti-bodies’ which counteract the effect of the germ/virus and thus preventing it from recurring is effective. The results of this travesty would require several pages on this most excellent forum into a disarray of bandwidth.
Very true, simply taking a childhood 'disease' like chicken pox as a subject would require a whole thread.

Regarding vaccinations, I refuse to have my cats vaccinated. Every single cat I have ever had has hated going to the vets. My cats are very healthy and if I can avoid taking them to the vets I will do so. Vets are as bad as doctors - they are under the glamour of pharma companies. Vets and the way they treat (or mistreat) animals is a whole other thread as well. Not only do vets inject into the scruff of the cat's neck (which causes lumps to grow that they then call "cancer" and which kills the cat), they have what they now call "booster vaccinations" every year. If a vaccine works and creates anti-bodies against a disease then why does that vaccine not work for life? There are a very few vets (but only in the US) who don't recommend vaccinations for pets. I agree with them. Vaccinations kills animals. If they kill animals then they kill people too.
sharpstuff wrote:Importantly, your question (Apache) also relates to many other aspects of ill-health that appear to be inexplicable without the notion of ‘germs’ and it does require a deal of thought, since we have been so entrenched in this nonsense, which is why other notions of disease need to be researched. The answers are not though, probably, lucrative enough.
But clearly worth pursuing, like the notion of 'cancer'. What exactly is cancer? I don't know and two of my relatives apparently died because they had cancer, but what I witnessed was not cancer killing them. My father actually died of starvation and my mother in law died through an overdose of morphine.
sharpstuff wrote:I understand that I appear long-winded here but these issues are very important to try to understand (for everybody).
I don't see your post as long-winded. It's actually very succinct.
sharpstuff wrote:A couple of years ago, I tried an experiment upon myself. I was unscrewing a particularly difficult Philips screw and dug the tip of the screwdriver into my hand. I completely left it alone. It did not bleed very much and I just left it alone. Within a week or so it was healing itself. A few weeks later it had healed itself without intervention. Lastly, I do not even have a scar.
The human body is indeed stunning in its ability to heal itself.

Once again, thank your for your considered response. Most enlightening.

This thread is extremely interesting and and I am even go so far as to say contains the basis of certain optimism in retaking control of our lives.

http://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA314/ ... 26p02.html

Here is a link to a translation of the first lecture of Rudolf Steiner's 'an anthroposophical approach to medicine.' Whilst many on this forum seem to have a problem with occultists and their influence (and goodness me there are plenty of reasons to!), I think that, especially in the realm of medicine it is important not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Steiner broke with theosophy as it ran into its most bonkers british imperial Olcott/Besant/Krishnamurti excesses and founded his own movement. His wrote on a vast range of subjects and his worldwide influence is almost incalculable. His work, amongst other things, brought about the foundation of anthroposophical hospitals, doctors and ways of looking at the patient. Amongst other things, natural medicine is at the forefront, the patient is treated not only as a body that is not functioning for some reason, but as an integrated human according to the anthroposophical conception of man (body, soul, etherbody) and so on.
If you read that article you can see that Steiner speaks of Galen's ideas not as a backwards conception of medicine but as an examination of the subtler causes of illness, that is not only to say the disharmony of the bodily fluids but the spiritual fluids/subtances that would cause a patient to behave in a specific way.

Nothing there is particularly hard to accept, even in modern times; what is strange about thinking that a surfeit of melancholic fluid (phlegma), that is to say earth element, could cause depressive behaviour which would then manifest itself in damaging behaviours that would in turn influence the physical body's ability to look after/repair itself?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropos ... for_cancer

This is the cliche that is ALWAYS thrown up by Steiner haters (along with the racism allegations, these are total quatsch, quite frankly i can think of nothing more racist than teaching of evolution coupled with out-of-africa theory) but when one thinks about how little we know about what cancer really is about, why is this so unreasonable? The kicker is that one must gather the mistletoe at a particular time of planetary alignment (which incidentally, as far as i know, is about to occur.) I could imagine that, to some readers, anything to do with the zodiac is a problem but think about it for a second. It is very clear that our higher-ups, to some or other extent, at least give the appearance of believing in carrying out rituals to appease certain gods or forces, to keep certain festivals, whether solstices, sacre du printemps, rosh hashanah. If one takes the time to read something like, say the complete account of the rituals of the golden dawn by israel regardie and, bearing in mind what REAL influence that freemasonry, kabbalism and egypt-fetishism has on the lives of our societies,

http://osogd2013.org/wp-content/uploads ... elator.pdf

on page 3 of this golden dawn document is a swastika, named here the fylfott or hermetic cross in which the four elements are arranged along with the signs of the zodiac as a part of a 25 block square with eight squares removed. This schema appears again and again in golden dawn documents, even being mandatory as a lapel badge!

My point is, perhaps they know something we do not regarding the zodiac (this is without going into the possibility that the procession of the equinoxes means that we are one star sign behind or on front of where we should be) and medicine. Ever since I became aware of the absolute nonsense that is promoted in the name of the 'real science' Astronomy and Astrophysics, i have wondered if part of the agenda is the denigration of its spiritual-minded correlate, Astrology. A good example I heard about this recently was from a biodynamic farmer talking about the type of wheat that is now planted in the western world. Apparently (i cannot cite sources) in times of yore, there was a different longer-stemmed type of wheat in use that was kept in the ground longer and thus experienced the entire zodiacal year during its growth, harvesting etc. According to this farmer, this had an effect both on the ground it was planted in, the nutrition of the crop and the attitude of the person looking after the crop. Whilst it is impossible to put ourselves back into that mindset, one could imagine that in less mechanistic times, one would have considered the different cycles of time, seasons and their zodiacal allegories as literally bringing the food from the ground.

These groundbreaking cancer cures and remedies appear to be coming thick and fast recently.

Here's another one..

Scientists find 'Achilles' heel' of cancer offering hope for most deadly cases
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/ ... cases.html

This one at least gives an answer to my query earlier in the thread regarding lifelong vaccines and mutating viruses.

Apparently...

In a finding hailed as ‘groundbreaking,’ researchers found that all cancer cells carry a ‘flag’, which can be spotted by the immune system, no matter how much they mutate.

'The genetic profile could also be used to create a vaccine to ramp up the body’s own defences against the cancer.'

Image
All cancer cells carry a genetic signature, no matter how much they mutate Photo: Wellcome Collection

As in previous 'groundbreaking' discoveries researchers are getting worked up...

“This is exciting,” he told a briefing in London. “Now we can prioritise and target tumour antigens that are present in every cell. It gives us as an Achilles’ heel to go for.

Again, it's going to take time...

Researchers are hoping that the first trials will be carried out on patients within two years.

But reassuringly....

“I think we will look back at this in five-years’ time and think this was the moment of understanding cancer better.”

There you go.

My dear Kickstones and others,

I have divided this post into two parts.

Part One

This whole notion of ‘cancer’ is yet another fear-mongering tactic of the allopathic medical system (and most so-called ‘alternative’ medical sites). The song remains the same.

That is, that ‘this or that’ ‘causes’ cancer. This is complete nonsense but aids those with whatever their ‘agenda’ may be.

There may be conditions of flora and fauna that defy explanation at a rational level but Nature cannot be self-destructive (why would it, since we are all still here that are living and breathing?), so we have to look at other ideas to explain our health or our unhealth.

Blaming unknowable/unseeable/unidentifiable/unverifiable ‘germs/viruses’ is not an answer.

In truth, there is no such thing as ‘cancer’. If anything, there are ‘cancers’. Please note the plural.

We are constantly bombarded with the notions that ‘this or that’ ‘causes’ cancer. This is easy to say but not demonstrable. It is pretty good at looking for excuses, not knowing what a real problem might be and denigrating anything that one might no like. I defy anyone to demonstrate that anything ‘causes’ illness except for lack of proper nutrients and sunlight that Nature supplies as a function of the Universe-as-a-whole.

This precisely why there are always some sort of ‘cure-around-the-corner’, usually at some indefinable period in the future.

In regards to ‘CANCER!’ I would like to try to persuade you to look at the following link to Ryke Geerd Hamer before you (or anyone else) comments upon ‘cancer’ or its brethren (a.k.a. other illnesses).

Both Seneca and myself have alluded to him in the past.

http://www.newmedicine.ca/german-new-medicine.php

One must also be conscious of the notion that removing any substance from a living individual and trying to study it at a later time via any means, is tantamount to destroying its substance and therefore nullifying any amount of study to determine its relevance as doing anything at all.

It will always be out of context to the whole. Thus, removing the ‘2’ from 2 + 2 = 4 can tell us nothing about the ‘4’. Correct me if I am incorrect but arithmetic is not my strong point.

Let us take a look at the notion/s of recovering data from virtually invisible ‘objects’.

http://www.differencebetween.net/scienc ... -in-vitro/

I will now turn to so-called ‘pictures’ of viruses.

https://www.google.com/search?site=imgh ... ZHqLBqvm-Y

These are all fake! The fact that many or most are coloured proves that they are fake.

To examine anything so apparently small, one would need an ‘electron’ microscope and the results would only be in black and white! Why are these so-called ‘viruses’ in colour? Because they are artistic impressions! They look like multi-cellular creatures, not a virus which is supposed to be a strand of RNA/DNA depending upon the ‘university’ to which you went. Give me strength…

We are dealing here with the same images like those of fake satellites orbiting the earth, for goodness sake!

Part Two

What is a virus?

http://www.news-medical.net/health/What-is-a-Virus.aspx

I would like to attempt to deconstruct this piece which is, if I may say so, is typical of the explanations which we are given regarding these ‘entities’..

My comments/questions are between […]

What is a Virus?

By Dr Ananya Mandal, MD

(Make of this what you will:)

https://in.linkedin.com/in/ananya-mandal-28b8a235

Viruses are tiny organisms [define ‘organism’] that may lead to mild to severe illnesses in humans, animals and plants. This may include flu or a cold to something more life threatening like HIV/AIDS.

How big are viruses?

The virus particles are 100 times smaller than a single bacteria cell [Which is what size, precisely?].

The bacterial cell alone is more than 10 times smaller than a human cell [Which is what size, precisely?] and a human cell [we understand that some cells are larger than others if we believe your biology] is 10 times smaller than the diameter of a single human hair [Which is what size, precisely?].

Are viruses alive?

Viruses by themselves are not alive. [Remember that statement]

They cannot grow or multiply on their own and need to enter a human or animal cell and take over the cell to help them multiply. [So how, precisely, do they ‘enter’ a human, animal, or plant cell if they are not alive?]

These viruses may also infect bacterial cells [what are these bacterial cells?].

The virus particle or the virions attack the cell [If they are not ‘alive’ how can they ‘attack’ anything?] and take over its machinery to carry out their own life processes [You just said that they were not alive!] of multiplication and growth. An infected cell will produce viral particles instead of its usual products [How? If it not alive, it can’t do any replication!].

Structure of a virus

A virion (virus particle) has three main parts:

[So what is a ‘particle’ and how, precisely, does it equate with a ‘virus’? If it has three main parts, how is it an entity on its own?]

Nucleic acid – this is the core of the virus [this entity now has a core!] with the DNA or RNA (deoxyribonucleic acid and ribonucleic acid respectively). [Prove it.]

The DNA or RNA holds all of the information [precisely what information?] for the virus and that makes it unique and helps it multiply.
[Please show reproducible proof that there is in fact a DNA or RNA ‘something’. Also, if it not ‘living’, how precisely does it do this?]
Protein Coat (capsid) – This is covering over the nucleic acid that protects it [from what, exactly? What exactly, are ‘proteins’?].

Lipid membrane (envelope) – this covers the capsid [What?].

Many viruses do not have this envelope [self-sticking?] and are called naked viruses [spare me this confusion!].

Receptors

Viruses are not simply taken into cells [How are they ‘taken into cells’ if they are supposed to ‘attack’ cells when they are not alive enough to do anything?].

They must first attach to a receptor on the cell surface. [How? To do work one must perform an action. If the virus is not alive, how can it perform an action? Just asking!]

Each virus has its specific receptor [please explain], usually a vital component of the cell surface [and that is?].

It is the distribution of these receptor molecules on host cells that determines the cell-preference of viruses. For example, the cold and flu virus prefers the mucus lining cells of the lungs and the airways. [How could you possibly ‘prefer’ that? How does it ‘know’ if it has no ‘brain’ to process any information? My patience is limited, here.]

How do viruses infect?

[What, exactly, precisely (I am running out of synonyms here) is an ‘infection?]

Viruses do not have the chemical machinery needed to survive on their own. [If they can’t survive on their own, how can they be available to attack anything? Give me strength!]

They, thus seek out host cells in which they can multiply. [These are clever little devils, aren’t they? Dead but alive. They also have the brain-power to seek and find!]

These viruses enter the body from the environment or other individuals from soil to water to air via nose, mouth, or any breaks in the skin and seek a cell to infect.

[Honestly, dear person (to be politically correct) how do you live with yourself?]

A cold or flu virus for example will target cells that line the respiratory (i.e. the lungs) or digestive (i.e. the stomach) tracts. The HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) that causes AIDS attacks the T-cells (a type of white blood cell that fights infection and disease) of the immune system. [This gets worse by the sentence.]

Life cycle of a basic virus

[If the…insert expletive… a ‘virus’ is not ‘alive’ how can it have a ‘life’ cycle? Could you please what follows the ‘basic’ virus, which we now apparently have.]

There are a few basic steps [babies make those for real] that all infecting viruses follow and these are called the lytic cycle.

[You might like to fill your head with this, from Wikipeedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lytic_cycle

Frankly, I can’t be bothered.

To continue:

These include: I continue quoting…]

A virus particle attaches to a host cell. This is called the process of adsorption. [The invader gets to the castle (all DNA/RNA molecules waving) and the castle adsorbs this invader without a fight?]

The particle [?] injects its DNA or RNA [?] into the host cell called entry. [Ha, ha! It doesn’t invade! It injects itself..now I understand.] [Hang on! Doesn’t a ‘host’ ‘invite’ something?]

The invading DNA or RNA takes over the cell and recruits the host’s enzymes. [Nothing like assembling an army for nefarious purposes!]

The cellular enzymes start making new virus particles called replication. [Dear, oh, dear, when is this person going to shut up?]
The particles of the virus [what on Earth does that mean? Particles of what?] created by the cell come together to form new viruses. This is called assembly. [We used to have assemblies at school and I have no idea what my other counterparts thought of these indoctrinal lessons, I was always bemused.]

The newly formed viruses kill the cell [how do they do that in exacto?] so that they may break free and search for a new host cell. [Goodness knows how this is accomplished in real life.]

This is called release.

[Thankfully you are released from this continuous tripe. So much for ‘modern’ medicine.]

Modern Medicine: The New World Religion
The Hidden Influence of Beliefs and Fears by Olivier Clerc, France

Medicine, then, has become the new world religion. The specific myths, beliefs and rites of Christianity have been unconsciously projected over medicine since Pasteur. As I explain in detail in my book, we can establish a very close parallelism between the catholic religion and modern medicine, although, for lack of space, I cannot go into all the details of each comparison in this article. In brief:

- physicians have taken the place of priests;

- vaccination plays the same initiatory role as baptism, and is accompanied by the same threats and fears;

- the search for health has replaced the quest for salvation;

- the fight against disease has replaced the fight against sin;

- eradication of viruses has taken the place of exorcising demons;

- the hope of physical immortality (cloning, genetic engineering) has been substituted for the hope of eternal life;

- pills have replaced the sacrament of bread and wine;

- donations to cancer research take precedence over donations to the church;

- a hypothetical universal vaccine could save humanity from all its illnesses, as the Saviour has saved the world from all its sins;

- the medical power has become the government’s ally, as was the Catholic Church in the past;

- "charlatans” are persecuted today as "heretics” were yesterday;

- dogmatism rules out promising alternative medical theories;

- the same absence of individual responsibility is now found in medicine, as previously in the Christian religion;

- patients are alienated from their bodies, as sinners used to be from their souls.

Passing of King Charles II, 1685

But first, by way of introduction to the subject of “death by doctoring”, we travel back a few hundred years to the bedside of King Charles II, where 14 of the highest-qualified physicians in the land are earnestly “reviving” the king from a stroke.

“The king was bled to the extent of a pint from a vein in his right arm. Next, his shoulder was cut into and the incised area was sucked of an additional 8 oz of blood. An emetic and a purgative were administered, followed by a second purgative, followed by an enema containing antimony, sacred bitters, rock salt, mallow leaves, violets, beetroot, chamomile flowers, fennel seeds, linseed, cinnamon, cardamom seed, saffron, cochineal and aloes.

The king’s scalp was shaved and a blister raised. A sneezing powder of hellebore was administered. A plaster of burgundy pitch and pigeon dung was applied to the feet. Medicaments included melon seeds, manna, slippery elm, black cherry water, lime flowers, lily of the valley, peony, lavender and dissolved pearls. As he grew worse, forty drops of extract of human skull were administered, followed by a rallying dose of Raleigh’s antidote. Finally, bezoar stone was given.

“Curiously, his Majesty’s strength seemed to wane after all these interventions and, as the end of his life seemed imminent, his doctors tried a last-ditch attempt by forcing more Raleigh’s mixture, pearl julep and ammonia down the dying king’s throat.

Further treatment was rendered more difficult by the king’s death.” [ :lol: :lol: :lol: ]

We can be sure that the physicians gathered around the king’s bed were all leaders in their particular field—royalty and presidents do not settle for anything less.

But, as Proust observed, with hindsight we can now see the hideous error of their therapeutics. Today, the skull drops, the ammonia and the pigeon dung have long gone, but what will we say in a few years’ time when we look back on the “highly respected” cancer therapeutics of 2002? Will we dare to venture that there is nothing new under the Sun?

Have we really progressed much further?

"In my years of teaching in medical school, I had come to realize that medical students in an academic setting are more competitive and backbiting than a truckload of lawyers. They live out the Darwinian struggle in their quest to be one of the ‘fittest’ who stagger to graduation after four grueling years in medical school. The single-minded pursuit of stellar medical school grades, without regard for the students surrounding you, no doubt follows a Darwinian model, but it always seemed to me an ironic pursuit for those who are striving to become compassionate healers."
--Bruce Lipton, PhD

I’m posting the following excerpts in order to shed light on the making of ‘slave doctors’ and its doctor-patient relationship ramifications.

Confessions of a Medical Heretic (Ch. 7: The Devil’s Priests) - Robert S. Mendelsohn, M.D.

If I had to characterize doctors, I would say their major psychological attribute is fear. They have a drive to achieve security-plus that’s never satisfied because of all the fear that’s drummed into them in medical school: fear of failure, fear of missing a diagnosis, fear of malpractice, fear of remarks by their peers, fear that they’ll have to find honest work. There was a movie some time ago that opened with a marathon dance contest. After a certain length of time all the contestants were eliminated except one. Everybody had to fail except the winner. That’s what medical school has become. Since everybody can’t win, everybody suffers from a loss of self-esteem. Everybody comes out of medical school feeling bad.

Doctors are given one reward for swallowing the fear pill so willingly and for sacrificing the healing instincts and human emotions that might help their practice: arrogance. To hide their fear, they’re taught to adopt the authoritarian attitude and demeanor of their professors. With all this pushing at one end and pulling at the other, it’s no wonder that doctors are the major sources of illness in our society. The process that begins with cheating on a biology exam by moving the microscope slide so that the next student views the wrong specimen, that continues with dropping sugar into a urine sample to change the results for those who follow, with hiring others to write papers and take exams, and with “dry labbing” experiments by fabricating results, ends with falsifying research reports in order to get a drug approved. What begins with fear and fatigue over exams and grades ends with a drug or alcohol problem. And what begins with arrogance towards others ends up as a doctor prescribing deadly procedures with little regard for the life and health of the patient.

If I had to answer the question of why doctors are so reluctant to report negligence in the practice of their colleagues yet so cutthroat when it comes to medical politics and medical school competition, I go back to the basic emotions engendered in medical school: fear and arrogance. The resentment doctors are taught to feel for each other as students is transferred to the patients when the doctor finally gets into his own practice.

All religions promote and relieve guilt. To the extent that a religion is able to encourage useful behavior by promoting guilt and relieving it, that religion is “good.” A religion which promotes too much guilt and relieves too little, or which encourages the wrong kind of behavior—behavior which will not result in the improvement of the welfare of the faithful — is a “bad” religion. An example of how a religion promotes and relieves guilt is the almost universal proscription against adultery. Obviously, if religions didn’t try to make people feel that adultery was “wrong” and encourage them to feel guilty about it, more and more people would do it and necessary social structures would weaken. People wouldn’t know who their parents were, property could not be orderly transferred from generation to generation, and venereal disease could threaten the existence of an especially energetic culture.

Doctors are so powerful precisely because they have, as priests of the Church of Modern Medicine, removed all the old guilts. Modern Medicine invalidates the old guilts which, strangely enough, held people to their old religions. Nothing is a “sin” anymore, because there is a physical consequence, the doctor has the power to fix you up. If you get pregnant, the doctor can perform an abortion. If you get venereal disease, the doctor can give you penicillin. If you are gluttonous and damage your heart, the doctor can give you a coronary bypass. If you suffer from emotional problems, the doctor has Valium, Librium, and other narcotics to help you get by without caring, or feeling. If those don’t work, there are plenty of psychiatrists.

Doctors protect themselves further through the sacred language of the priest. A religion must have a sacred language to separate the discourse of the priesthood from the lowly banter of the masses. After all, the priests are on speaking terms with the powers that seep the universe on course. We can’t have just anyone listening in. Sacred language of doctors is no different from jargon developed by any elitist group. Its main function is to keep outsiders ignorant. If you could understand everything your doctor was saying to you and to other doctors, his power over you would be diminished. So when you get sick because of the generally filthy conditions in the hospital, he’ll call your infection nosocomial. That way, you’ll not only not get angry at the hospital, but you’ll feel privileged to have such a distinguished sounding disease. And too scared to get mad.

How and When to Be Your Own Doctor - Isabelle A. Moser, M.D., Steve Solomon

The American Medical Association style of medicine (a philosophy I will henceforth call allopathic) has a model that explains the causes of illness. It suggests that anyone who is sick is a victim. Either they were attacked by a “bad” organism—virus, bacteria, yeast, pollen, cancer cell, etc.—or they have a “bad” organ—liver, kidney, gall bladder, even brain. Or, the victim may also have been cursed by bad genes. In any case, the cause of the disease is not the person and the person is neither responsible for creating their own complaint nor is the victim capable of making it go away. This institutionalized irresponsibility seems useful for both parties to the illness, doctor and patient. The patient is not required to do anything about their complaint except pay (a lot) and obediently follow the instructions of the doctor, submitting unquestioningly to their drugs and surgeries. The physician then acquires a role of being considered vital to the survival of others and thus obtains great status, prestige, authority, and financial remuneration.

Today’s suffering American public is firmly in the AMA’s grip. People have been effectively prevented from learning much about medical alternatives, have been virtually brainwashed by clever media management that portrays other medical models as dangerous and/or ineffective. Legislation influenced by the allopathic doctors’ union, the American Medical Association, severely limits or prohibits the practice of holistic health. People are repeatedly directed by those with authority to an allopathic doctor whenever they have a health problem, question or confusion.

The AMA has succeeded at making their influence over information and media so pervasive that most people do not even realize that the doctors’ union is the source of their medical outlook.

Asserting that the sick are pitiable victims is financially beneficial to doctors. It makes medical intervention seem a vital necessity for every ache and pain. It makes the sick become dependent. I’m not implying that most doctors knowingly are conniving extortionists. Actually most medical doctors are genuinely well intentioned.

I’ve also noticed that most medical doctors are at heart very timid individuals who consider that possession of a MD degree and license proves that they are very important, proves them to be highly intelligent, even makes them fully qualified to pontificate on many subjects not related to medicine at all.

Doctors obtain an enormous sense of self-importance at medical school, where they proudly endured the high pressure weeding out of any free spirit unwilling to grind away into the night for seven or more years. Anyone incapable of absorbing and regurgitating huge amounts of rote information; anyone with a disrespectful or irreverent attitude toward the senior doctor-gods who arrogantly serve as med school professors, anyone like this was eliminated with especial rapidity. When the thoroughly submissive, homogenized survivors are finally licensed, they assume the status of junior doctor-gods.

But becoming an official medical deity doesn’t permit one to create their own methods. No no, the AMA’s professional oversight and control system makes continued possession of the license to practice (and the high income that usually comes with it) entirely dependent on continued conformity to what is defined by the AMA as “correct practice.” Any doctor who innovates beyond strict limits or uses nonstandard treatments is in real danger of losing their livelihood and status.

Health & Survival In The 21st Century - Ross Horne

Health is the birthright of all living things in their natural environment. It is guaranteed by the laws of Nature while ever those laws are respected.

But we conceited humans, because we have dammed a few rivers and cut a few canals, have succeeded in deluding ourselves that we have mastered Nature. And because we have changed a few species of plants and animals to our advantage, and have invented heart transplants and so on, we further delude ourselves that we know better than Nature and can do better on our own. And that's why we have been deprived of our most precious birthright--good health from birth to old age.

In nature there are neither rewards or punishments. There are consequences.
Robert Ingersoll

It's as simple as that. People who are never sick and who live long are not lucky--they, knowingly or unknowingly, have merely followed habits of life in accord with Nature's simple guidelines. Their good health is not a reward, it is a consequence--natural and predictable. By the same token, people who get sick from time to time or even all of the time are not unlucky; they are not in any sense unfortunate victims of disease--their ill-health is merely a predictable consequence of things they are doing wrong.

The concept of natural health is simple and unshakeable, and can be proven in a very short space of time. The concept is:

1. Good health is the normal state of all living things and will always be maintained in the absence of unnatural influences.

2. In sound health, the defensive systems of the body are capable of easily repelling and destroying any potentially harmful organism (germ or virus) that may be encountered.

3. Disease of any kind (infectious or metabolic) can only eventuate if a person is subjected to adverse influences such as malnutrition, stress, etc, to the extent of exceeding the body's capacity to cope.

4. Providing the vital organs retain some function, then whatever the state of illness or injury, once the body is freed of the adverse influences responsible, it will immediately, without any outside help, commence to restore itself. And if at the same time optimum conditions of nutrition, sunshine, fresh air and rest are provided, the restoration will proceed at a surprisingly rapid rate.

Reclaiming Your Birthright

The key to reclaiming your birthright and powering your way back to top line health and vigor is not that you have to do anything very special. You don't need to buy lots of herbs or meditate or have acupuncture.

All you have to do is to STOP doing the things that are doing you harm, whereupon your body, given favorable circumstances and with its inbuilt wisdom, will soon restore itself.

That is simple-but there are pitfalls, the main one being that the world is full of conflicting advice, most of it either only half right and a lot of it totally wrong, which means you must sift all the information you are offered regardless of its source. Remember: opinions only become facts when they are proven. To demonstrate this point, the chapters which follow describe just how mistaken many of our traditional beliefs are--beliefs about nutrition, germs and viruses, disease and medicine--which misconceptions, while held on to, prevent any chance of a full comprehension of our subject. Other information follows as well, of course, and as Sherlock Holmes said to his friend Dr Watson (or words to the same effect): "When you have eliminated all that is false then whatever remains must be the truth."

In regards to the "new" immunotherapy they claim is the cat's meow, re: cancer:

A gift of $125 million — mostly from former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and fashion mogul and film producer Sidney Kimmel — makes this sort of shot-in-the-dark research all the more viable, Pardoll says.

The institute patents its research, and licenses it to drug makers.Treatment requires a two-hour IV infusion every two weeks for anywhere from six months to two years, plus a “treatment vaccine” that may be administered periodically to rev up the immune system. So far, Pardoll says, only 3 percent of his patients have experienced any side effects, such as inflammation of the lungs On the other hand, Pardoll says, prostate and pancreatic cancers have proved more resistant and less receptive to treatment.
