Let me try as well, I think the main driver is FEAR.
The thing that the people with loads of power and money fear is loosing it. With power and a lot of money come a lot of fears. Fearing their kids to be abducted, feeling that people are always after your money, feeling unsafe and thereby building very advanced security systems around their houses, afraid that people have bad intention, having special security for phones, a lot of energy goes into keeping everything up and running, the vacation houses, the cars, the house, they fear for the future of their kids, if they are safe at school, they see parents of other kids forcing their kids to like their kids.
There is a deep fear that if they loose their money and power, nothing is left, just a life of slavery. Which implies exactly how they look at the lifes of other people.
I know a guy who married into a very wealthy family and this is how his life changed. And how his views on life have been influenced.
Kings and queens try to maintain or grow their power and wealth.
Investors try to grow their wealth and influence.
A bureaucracy tries to get close to those with power and wealth. The nearer they get (the higher in the org) they more wealth there will be for them. The amount of servants is never ending.
So the foggy elite is a preservation scheme of wealth and power. When elites fight other elites it's bloody. Families will be murdered.
Take the Russian Tsar's family. I think this is the driving emotional element we can all imagine.
What best to agree with other elites, on power, this is yours, this is mine, that doesn't mean the trust is there, they know everyone will always be after their power, it's a game of chess, but the goal is not to get to the end game in which one of them dies, the goal is to preserve.
How far would they go to preserve their power and wealth? To secure the safety and future of their children?
They look at the plebs with fear and contempt. They don't see them highly, but also know you only need 1 "idiot" to abduct their kids, to take them out, 1 mistake to loose their full fortune.
Wisdom is to work together. I have seen the children of rich families work in the NGOs of other families. There is a lot of intermingling. Between families, internationally, these relationship are hesitant, but easier than those with the plebs for them, they are not directly after their money and power. They understand there is more than enough for anybody.
In what kind of society can elites preserve money and power?
In societies in which they are not attacked.
How can they not be attacked?
To be
seen as good people, that are there for the people, rich people love owning press agencies, why?
As it is the best instrument to control the conversation.
Many people are not having good lives, hard work, slave like existence, who do they blame?
Those with money and power don't want to be blamed, so they need scapegoats. Scapegoats can only function for a limited time. Then people find out, they are not that bad.
So what we see in society is a constant play of divisive play of scapegoating. Black vs White. In my life I have been hero, scapegoat, hero, scapegoat, this is lightly
based on reality. But everyone can be scapegoated.
There will always be people that call out the elites, what is important is that the scapegoating operation is more powerful that the call out of the elite.
When we fear muslims, we don't mind how owns all our papers. When we fear Russia, we don't mind the elite has direct access to Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta and know our full lifes (just for our safety ofcourse, to filter out terrorists)
We need an international enemy (russia now), an enemy within our borders (Muslims), a coming enemy (China)
The elite need to look powerless.

Look people, we are just like you, the monarchies are powerless. We have nothing to do with Israel or Gaza, we are just people that cut ribbons. I had to laugh so hard when I saw this. This is a brilliant form of propaganda, over the top, but nice.
I think our international elite is very stable at this moment. No kings are murdered. No billionaires murdered.
They have a large propaganda apparatus that make them seen as good people. The powerless, emoji lovings monarchs.
The billionaires who just want to do good for the world.
Internationalism is an agreement between elites to not go after each other.
Chosen scapegoats are Iran & North Korea whose elites both benefit from this arrangement.
If there would a real conflict between "countries" they would immediately decapitate the leadership. And install a puppet government.
So it is never "country" against "country", a real war is elite vs elite. Where both sides are able to convince large masses to fight for them.
But as long as elites; either monarchs, billionaires or powerful politicians (not those "elected" bureaucrats that clap for Zelensky) are walking the streets and giving speeches and are shaking hands. We are not in war.
When the borders are open, we are not in war.
The elites and the families are very safe now.
That means we are in showtime. And the large majority is show.
I think there is probably a committee of the powerful, deciding on the propaganda wars to shape.
I more or less think all the global elites are in on this.
If you are not in, you are dead.
Gaddafi said things like:
"The Western elite is not democratic. It's a plutocracy, a dictatorship of the rich. The politicians are nothing more than puppets on the hands of the rich."
Then he was dead.
Milosevic said:

And then he was dead.
Once in while somebody stands up and they basically pop him.
The people of that country get seduced by free roads, free trade, sexual perversion, a well funded new elite.
Corona opened my eyes, seeing Iran, China, Russia, Dubai, UK, US, Europe all do the same stuff.
So concluding unless we see the billionaires, monarchs or other elites killed, we are in Hollywood territory.
But Gaddafi and Milosevic were quite right in their assessment, no wonder they are dead.
The real battle is people vs elite. But the elites built a very very strong house, which is very well funded and well controlled.
