Do you mind if i procrastinate in answering, and just say that I now believe in real faux-tographers?

Meanwhile, exactly how many foundations/memorials has Miriam got ?
I knew about that Indian "Eye-Care" thing, but I Just found this NEW one:
THE MIRIAM HYMAN MEMORIAL TRUST

The Miriam Hyman Research Grant
This grant was funded by many people who have given donations and raised money from events around the country. This grant is given in memory of Miriam Hyman, a Myeloma UK volunteer and fundraiser who so tragically lost her life in the July 7 London bombings in 2005.
Title of research study:
Assessing the supportive care needs and quality of life in myeloma patients and their partners
Study Lead: Prof. Alexander Molassiotis University of Manchester

Judith Vandervelde, an educator at the Jewish Museum in London, agrees that there is an urgent need for effective methods of teaching about the Holocaust in schools.
“The understanding that pupils get through face-to-face interaction with Holocaust survivors is quite incredible,” she said. “But they’re not going to be here for ever.
“We have to look into how we’re going to continue to have that connection without survivors speaking to pupils. We need to look ahead a few years and make Holocaust education tangible and accessible.”

The Trustees of the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust thought that their funds could best be used directly by service providers in a developing country, and money from the Miriam Hyman Memorial Fund, together with compensation received from the Mayor of London’s London Bombings Fund, was transferred to LVPEI.
http://www.london.gov.uk/media/press_re ... e-paymentsThese new payments will increase the total value of grants announced by the Fund to over ?1 million. Of this, the Fund has already paid 126 grants to victims to the value of ?460,000.
The main source of compensation for victims of the bombings will be the Government’s statutory Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
Victims of the 7 July attacks have received ?11m in compensation so far, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) said.
Some of the payouts are understood to have been for the maximum ?500,000 payable under the criminal injuries compensation scheme.

Marie Fatayi-Williams
Though not a Lagosian, Marie is a woman you just can not push aside in the Lagos Social Establishment. Aside from coming from an illustrious family (she hails from the Ikimi family in Igueben, Benin in Edo State), she is a highly cerebral woman who has been able to warm herself into the hearts of both the young and old, on account of her professional way of doing things. That this younger sister of ace politician, Chief Tom Ikimi is also brilliant is not in doubt. Or how else would you describe a woman who has been able to work her way up the corporate ladder in Elf Petroleum.

One of the hardest things for her to accept is the British government's refusal to grant a full public inquiry into the 7 July bombings.
"There must be a public inquiry. I lost my son. Others have lost loved ones".

From her growing fears for her missing son to her frustration with the official investigation and the bureaucratic delays she faced, her story is told with her uniquely vivid gift for language, with raw passion, and ultimately with the love of a mother. Her extraordinary strength and powers of organisation have led to the launch of the Anthony Fatayi-Williams Foundation to encourage multi-cultural debate, education and international peace.
Thanks Timothy for acknowledging the significance of the John Howard gaffe.timothymurphy 4 Jul 16 2010, 09:45 PM wrote:
I think the John Howard Gaff neatly illustrates the amount of fudging going on with victim numbers. It shows that the media / politicians may have somewhat bypassed less glamourous figures such as coroners in launching the story.

But there's yet another atrocious problem with that.
At least two victims (allegedly) succumbed to their injuries AFTER july 11:
SAM LY
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engl ... 741485.stm
"When the computer worker was recovered with serious injuries from the wreckage
of the bus, his father and nephew flew to London to be at his hospital bedside.
But he died on 14 July, one week after the blast."
LEE HARRIS
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engl ... 741565.stm
"The 30-year-old was in a coma for eight days and died on 15 July, a day before
his girlfriend's body was pulled from the wreckage of the mangled train."
So, his girlfriend Samantha Badham was pulled from her train carriage on July16 - a full nine days after the blast???
What a load of hogwash. It is quite remarkable that anyone could believe such an asinine script.

It is as if someone behind the scenes is trying to attenuate the effect of the gaffe and giving what should be the correct official figure.(assuming there were not supposed to be more in comas etc. like Ly and Harris)
Then, quite unscheduled the President and Prime Minister came down to meet and greet us, the President took Denise's camera, gave it to a three star US Marine General, ordering him to "Take a photograph of us."
